i have been using vocab.com since 2014, so i’m coming up on being a 10-year user. what started out as a requirement for school turned into a passion, which was consuming vocabulary at a voracity like no other. the app makes it feel like a game instead of a chore, but still, you have to like learning vocabulary to like this app. the app interface is well-designed; i have not experienced any lags or buffering (although i have not used the app without internet yet, so this may change). easy way to

I’ve always enjoyed this app as a means for broadening your vocabulary, the streaks and badges make it rather rewarding as well. If I had to pick out one thing I don’t like, it’s that for some reason the website seems easier to use, but that probably just takes some getting used to.

This is my favorite app. It makes learning new words easy and fun. You can create your own vocabulary lists to learn and master or choose from many other lists based on the subject you want to learn. This app has changed my life. I do have ADHD, but this app keeps me totally engaged in the words. For AP Lang i have a vocab test I didn’t feel confident until now

This app is very productive. You can put lists on and it make school easy because you just have to put vocabulary words and make a list. You get a ton of little badges every time you master a word or something like that. You get a point on questions and you use that to increase your rank. There are a ton of word lists pre made and there are spelling bees and jams and it is also competitive.

Hi! I really enjoy this app, however it could use an update! My boyfriend can’t even download it on his phone because of how outdated the app is. I would like to recommend this app to other people, but until it’s updated it doesn’t really seem like I can. Please update so more people may use this app!

This app is the best dictionary on the planet!

This app forces you into learning pre-determined lists of words, so if you’re attempting to look up and save words you want to learn yourself, get a different app. The most frustrating thing is that it doesn’t allow you to save a word and build your own list.

I use it everyday!

The app is clumsy and could be improved. E.g. you can’t copy text from the app, you can’t erase entire word from text box, you need to erase letter by letter, etc. Also I don’t like that sometimes when you minimize app it switches the word

As others have said, it may not be the optimal learning tool for a student/education looking for certain word lists and a form to track their learning . But it certainly is a fun and effective for adults looking to diversify their everyday vocabulary. Very easy to play at a few seconds at a time. It has a progress report every 10 words so you’ll when you had a decent full.

I’m really loving the app. I can’t figure out however how to add words to my lists in the app that I started on Vocabulary.com website.

Searched everywhere for a dictionary that could save my word list online and this was the only gem I found. The fact that I get to quiz myself on the saved words is more than a cherry on top

This is my favorite app & website for learning new vocabulary. The words are well explained and there are diverse quizzes for each word that target different aspects of understanding and usage. Content is great but the app is a bit glitchy. When you look up words during play, the definition becomes off centered. Also swiping left after you look up a word during play pulls up a page from a previous definition. What I want to do is to return to play mode.

Im using Vocabulary for a long time but still has a poor UI on new iPhones

The app could definitely use a re-design, I’d like it better if it looked a little similar to the desktop version. This app is a little hard to understand what you’re working on, but It’s okay, and still usable.

Very useful, but sorely lacking in pronunciation help, which should included with the definition. I’ll give it five stars regardless.

I use this daily and my vocabulary acquisition has increased drastically. Love this website.

It would be nearly perfect app if it had “Spelling Bee” game in the app (Spelling Bee available in the browser version) and ability to manually add “unsupported” words.

Should have added antonyms for each vocab group

I have a huge problem with not knowing words, especially hearing words that may seem like I should know them, but don’t have the knowledge, or haven’t heard them at all. With this app being accessible for the iPhone, I can search up words, add them, and the quiz/questions that challenges me to understand the words that I want to know is a really great tool. I just wish that the bottom portion that states “start learning this word” was a little higher for my phone screen. Feels like it’s cut of

I really like this app. The thing I wish they would add is the quick erase option in the search bar. Many times I’ve made mistakes in spelling a word I’m looking up and it’s laborious to back space the entire word in the search bar to start over. Most search boxes have this option. Please add a quick erase option to the search bar. Otherwise, this app is extremely helpful. I really like how they give multiple examples of a word in use so it makes difficult words more easily understood. I use it

Took awhile to update the app but I’ve always liked y’all

Please download this app! This app has words from SAT and SSAT questions. It has helped me prepare for both high school and college! It is easy to use and fun to do!

The detail & depth of questions you get for each word is impressive, especially for a free app. Outstanding selection of words as well, and they’re always adding more.

Why is this not allowed within the app??

I’ve used Vocab.com for years, and the app daily! It always challenges me and satiates my vocabulary curiosity!

Can’t open it now in my iPhone. It says the developer needs to update the version. What can I do?

I used this app for a while and loved it. I'm now trying to figure out how to set up to go back and remind myself of the words I learned before. I've sent in messages and got no responses from the makers. So I would say it's starting to lose efficacy and the user support just isn't there.
