Been using VD off and on for some time. Stopped for a while and just came back. App now says I have no purchases. I ‘m 98% sure I purchased Paul the upgraded voice. Did an app upgrade cost me my premium voice??? Haven’t deleted it. It is a terrific app but got caught up in audio books for a while.
One of those magic apps i use
Use it all the time. Definitely worth paying for it once but would not do a subscription—especially if you already paid for the full version.
Works really well
The app is great however it would be great to add the option to play music in the background, like other readers such as speechify have
I like VoiceDream and I’ve had it for as long as it existed. I’ve bought many voices, but none of them have become any clearer in the ensuing time. I would not even mind a subscription if that would help, but I don’t own a Mac, and I’d prefer improvements in the pronunciation. Pronunciation is the foundation. The app still sounds like the mainframe readers of my youth. How about AI/LLM?
The app will not load new files after the update. Please fix. New issue: After the update, title changes won’t stick. I just spent over thirty minutes fixing a numbering issue, only for the original numbers to immediately roll back. It’s extremely frustrating. Please fix this as soon as possible.
This is by far the best. I tried a couple of 3-day trials with reading speeds up to 300 wpm; this performed the best. Plus, it gives you access to your online Kindle library (I have yet to try, but I'll follow up with the review when I do). One oddity I found with it is when it sees the capitalized word WHO, it treats it as an acronym. Any heading that is all capitalized, and where WHO appears, it doesn't mean the World Health Organization.
This is a life changer!
I wish I would have know about VoiceDream sooner! It’s changed my life by tripling my productivity. I prefer to learn and consume text by listening to it so I import everything possible into VoiceDream. I even listen to music and all my audio mp3s here because I like the features- it remembers where I left off on really long audios and let’s me add bookmarks and organize in folders. It’s so simple. I highly recommend
From my last review I finally figured out how to edit pronunciation. The ‘help’ in the app nor the website are helpful in this. Long press on the word in question in the app, and in the popup scroll right and select Pronounce and then change how the app pronounces the word and save. This looks the same as the iOS built in version but it is separate. To get back to the dictionary it is located in the app volume, yes in the volume settings. So that means you need a document ready to read to see
This app legit got me through med school. Just plug the notes from each class and textbooks in and voila you are a doctor. 5/5 stars. Also amazing for all other books. Good work
It is amazing how realistic the voice is in this text to speech app. The only change I would like is the ability to turn off the reading of certain punctuation marks: like a hyphen (“no sign”) etc.
This is an excellent efficiency tool for reading webpages, news, articles, PDFs. I’ve enjoyed it. Some of the voices you can download are incredibly good I think. Probably worth downloading one or two that you like though.
I've tried them all, and Voice Dream is the best without question. Worth the money for sure.
I am a voracious reader. I am also a person with multiple disabilities. Ease in reading has always been difficult for me but has become more difficult as I age. Voice Dream Reader has become my go-to app. It is in constant use from the time I get uo to the time I go to bed. I start out by loading the news articles I want to read into VDR and continue on from there. Voice Dream Reader has changed my reading experience for the better!
I use it to listen to articles while I'm doing things with my hands and eyes but not my brain. Once you tailor your pronunciation dictionary, it's amazing
I know there is an unread filter overall, but it’s more of an ‘unopened’ filter. I think this app could benefit from a sort option for ‘in-progress/complete’ that you can use within folders. I have a lot of folders with items I’ve only partially read that get lost amongst other things and I think ordering based on progress would help me find and finish those items more often.
A couple of things. I'm happy that I can lock the screen and still listen to my book, but often times when I pause it and then press play, it will play music instead of the book. I don't know if that's an iPhone issue, or a voice dream issue, but it's really annoying. Also, it would be great if this app added Kendall as an option. Overall it works better than reid to go, and I appreciate it.
It took me a while to actually put this amazing app to use but now that I have, I love it! Excellent tool!
I use this app at least 9 hours a day every day! It’s the best!
So far so good. I’ve transferred many of my books already, and the voice is less robotic sounding than (natural reader) however the highlighting feature can be More seamless. It’s hard to get the cursor over periods and there’s a noticeable lag time.
I’ve been using Voice Dream daily for almost 2 years so I can safely say I’m a super-user. Literally a life changing app. Has to potential to radically alter the way humanity engages with the written word.
It used to work really good, but nowadays (2022) it’s really glitchy. I have to download things to this app more than once before I can actually see them. It’s really inconvenient and this app has become a bit of a hassle to use.
Overall I have been very impressed with this app; it is great but the lack of pausing appropriately to reflect punctuation keeps it from being perfect.
Fantastic app. I absolutely love it and my life works be demonstrably worse without it. I have this app read me everything: book files, pdfs, websites, everything! The best and most realistic voices are acaplco, I use aussie Russell and welsh Geirant
I have been using Dream voice for more than 2 years. I tried many others similar apps. I found DV is by far the best in many respects. Worth the money to buy or to subscribe.
I’ve been using the same voice for several years now, and they have not released any new, better ones. I know better ones exist out there, I’ve heard them online - even on their own website. Why aren’t they available in this app?
Love the app. Please fix speech cursor.
I like the app and the speech/reading is great the only problem is trying to add journal articles.
This app has served me very well for several years now. The ability to copy something and then just pate it from the clipboard or to load a webpage into it makes it so very useful. Great app!
I like that they’re continuing to improve. Been using >3 years intermittently. Best I’ve found.
I’ve been using Voice Dream for many years to listen to Fan Fiction. Awesome app!!
I'm really glad with using this app in English texts and books, but really disappointed with the few features the Arabic language has, specially the scanning feature, it does not support the arabic contents.
I love this app its actually amazing my only issue is if i save a couple documents back to back they tend to pop up out of order which kills me when i need it to read allll my documents in order if there is a fix please tell me:))))
Love it, flawlessThis product was recommended to me by a film producer. It’s a critical part of how I edit. I love it.
I honestly have no better words than just plain amazing! This is a dream come true for those who don’t want to read, but need to!!! Good job devs 👍👍👍
I love this app. This is a must have in my iPhone for more than 6 years. I listen the books using this app. I save webpages and listen via this app, during the time drive to work, walk my dog. Listen to book saved my eyes. Love this app.
I am so thankful for this incredible app. Listening to any book is amazing and makes my time at work go by so quickly. Whole new paths of reading have opened up for me because of this app and I just want to say thank you.
This application is worth it! You should download it as soon as possible. You won't regret it. I'm so proud of the developer of the application. Keep up the good work
This app helped my son through school. Now that he is done with school we both use it for reading books. We've probably listen to thousands of books on this app and couldn't do without it.
The other pdf apps read left to right, even though there are two columns of text. This app is pretty good at skipping in-text citations. Please add the option to skip tables and to skip text that is superscript.
The features of this app are never ending. It does what no other app can do.
Easy to read articles and books. Having kids and being an engineer, tech changes fast, and time to sit down and focus on reading is limited. This is a life changer for my knowledge ingestion.
