There are a lot of training apps out there and unfortunately I’ve purchased my fair share. In my opinion this is the one I come back to you most often. It’s easy to use, but it definitely challenges you so you can calibrate your brain to interpret the needles. The author has done an excellent job with this app. I would echo other comments that it would be great to see even more scenarios. Money well spent.
This app is fun and easy to use. I used it to prepare for my Part 121 Aircraft Certification (DX exam) that covers HSI
This is a great way to train your brain to quickly visualize the needles. I’m using this to exercise VOR nav skills in quick 5 minute breaks. Beats social media and cheaper than burning fuel. What it can’t simulate is the task saturation that you can experience in the cockpit. With that, this app is perfect with what it aims to exercise and will hopefully help reduce that workload saturation.
One feature that would be nice is Holdings for example 1NM from station. That way you don’t have the flip flag for example
Easy and helpful, allows creating custom scenarios and get the idea of ‘the big picture ‘ . PS; they have great after sales response. I was having trouble with an app and emailed the creators, they fixed it with an update within days!
This app does exactly what the developer says it does. It is simple and efficient to use and fulfills its purpose. It works well as a tool to practice and review VOR holdings and tracking, can be useful when a PC is not around.
Great app for practicing IFR course interception and holds!
One addition that would be useful is for the app to let the user know when the task was completed successfully.
Helps to learn how to navigate and visualize yourself with a VOR.
Super app for vor mind trainin.
Title says it all...good training tool / app.
Very nice app with lots of useful functions. Works as advertised - I highly recommend it for initial IFR training and as preparation for simulator assessments!
It exceeded all of my expectations....... Very friendly user, great app. I hope they can incorporate approach procedures in a near future to this app.
Great app, very well executed. Add a CDI option and I will buy it again so I can use it to train flight students.

A point to point addition (one point in a radial to a point on another) would be super helpful, but this app is phenomenal for picking up the basics. Totally worth the price!
Very simple and intelligent tool for learning VOR procedures
Getting IFR training. This simple app is amazing. With simple controls, I can intercept VOR headings, and practice hold patterns wherever I have a few minutes. Saves me a lot of fuel and instructor time.
Getting prepped for my instrument ticket and this is proving very helpful
Good, but the To From indicator sometimes does not work
Where is the common VOR nav receiver? Would be great to have this along side the HSI so that aspiring pilots can practice with the instrument that is more frequently found in trainer aircraft? (More so than an RMI) Otherwise, nicely done.
It’s excellent. Requires some patienc i you are hsi expert but it teaches well. You will get the hang of it. More videos from Kaarsten would be a bonus. I think the blue arrow on the ehsi points to the vor ?
Great tool to help learn, practice, and visually understand VOR navigation and holds. A must have for students and even seasoned pilots!
Great app to easily & cheaply! practice intercepts & holds.
But very helpful, must have to learn HSI
I’ll be recommending for my IR students
I’m looking for an app or something relatively cheap to help me dial in my holding skills. And I am learning all my instrument holding training on a VOR and heading indicator instrument (basic 6 pack). I wish this app had an option to do just that instead of an HSI that I do not know how to use because my aircraft doesn’t have an HSI. And also custom or randomized ATC hold instructions instead of just published, even though you can customize them a little bit but it’s always a published hold.
The random placement makes no sense. In what world would I intercept the 264 radial inbound if I was EAST of the station? I have to open the map almost every time and reposition so I can intercept under 90 degrees
