10 Positive User Reviews for VoxSyn

For the plug and play users; not for synth players

Not being able to control the synth parameters severely limits the usefulness of this app. It's just a presets box - most of which are gimmicky. It's a shame, because the potential is there. (At the price that is perhaps to be expected; but to appeal to users that know synthesizers we should at least be given the option to pay extra to create our own patches.)

Best vocoder I’ve heard on iOS

Presets only, apparently, but an absolute raft of ‘em, likely enough to suit most needs most of the time. And the quality of the vocoded/envelope followed signal is very impressive. It compares quite favorable with a Roland vocoder I once paid a grand for, and does a lot more. Delightful! Sample sounds on the SoundTestRoom on YT for a nice stroll through some of what Doug claims are 600 presets, catalogued as leads, pads, sfx, etc. If you like playing with vocoder sounds, this is seven bux very

Yes!

Sounds amazing. First vocalizer/morph engine synth that I've found easy to dial in musically without a huge learning curve. Works well in IAP audio mode. MIdi sync works as it should and importing custom Terra Synth patches is as easy as hitting share and telling Terra to "open in" VoxSyn". I would give it 6 stars if I could ; ), but only if they take a minute to document all the amazing work they have done here with a pdf manual. Nitpicking aside, the in-line help system rocks. Highly recommend

strange vocoder type thing

super weird and quite amazing! the main trip is to get the input levels perfect, then even a guitar works in a cool way. still learning this but its far from normal vocoding

Greattt

How can I use external mic with this app? I have audio bus app. And I have Alexis iodock II , I can't figure out how to connect , please someone helppp

Flexible Fast Vocoder

This app has a wide range of presets or you can roll your own. Take input from the mic or use the app as an effect to transform the sound from other apps via Audiobus or an IAA host. Lots of creative possibilities open up for you when using this app.

Vocoder - Synth

Take a drum machine and run its presets through VoxSyns presets sometimes it's muffled noise other times it's magic! Always fun.

Powerful

This app is very powerful, i am having trouble with distortions in audio. I cannot figure out how to stop this. Awesome work none the less.

Has potential but...

The synth sounds are softer than the amped volume of the voice being used to generate sound. You lower the volume of the generator and of course even the synth is lower. The usability of this is an issue. It shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. Look for demos to be sure this is what you want before purchase. Edit: Apparently I have more controls to learn before I can give a fair review. Prior to this edit was an impression review.

Static on IPad Pro and iPhone X

Lots of static on iPad Pro and iPhone X - there should have been info on this problem in the description. Works fine on older hardware, so not a total waste.
