Wargroove 2: Pocket Edition App Reviews

The game is still suffering from really bad audio stuttering and occasional crashes after the update, which is very disappointing. I’m already through the first campaign and have to play with the sound turned off. It’s a great game, but I can’t believe they released it in this state. Hopefully it will be fixed in the future but that doesn’t help me much now.

So far all of the major startup issues seem addressed on my Iphone 13+. A few nagging UX issues with tap versus tap to hold in the tutorial. Zoom seems like needs a little more work. Generally a great little tactics game that I suspect with a little polish ends up being one of the best on the AppStore

What a great addition to the iOS turn based games being not only a tribute but a fun learning curve, so many options and so many ways of obtaining victory. Games like this are good for the phone when you have some down time and want to play campaign or create your own and customize your ability to enjoy it. It’s a bit challenging but that’s the point, no excess of grinding just learning how the units can come together. Very well done I can’t wait to keep playing and seeing what updates may come!

Yes, the game can be a bit sensitive on controls but for the price and content this game definitely should not be badly reviewed. I think overall this is an awesome game for Mobile and for less then ten bucks I just could not in good conscience not write a review to help combat the negative reviews! Please give it a try if you’re interested in the wargroove games!! This game has improved a lot since its launch.

I’m having a ton of fun with this game! The animations and gameplay loop is super super satisfying. My only complaint is that some of the controls give me a little trouble, being kinda finicky. I also wish there was an intermediate camera zoom option, but these are small nitpicks on an otherwise great game! :)

Wow, what a beautiful little game. It’s touching, story is engaging, funny in the right moments, endearing the next. And the combat takes real thought, between knowing terrain and unit abilities. Seriously, why the negative reviews? I’m in love. And best of all…no micro transactions!!! Just buy and play…wish there were more games like this. Knocked it out of the park.

Wargroove 2 is a fantastic turn based strategy game. Easy to learn and fun to play, the art style is a great throwback to classic games of yesteryear. The multiplayer is cross platform (across PC, Switch, etc.) and an example of how multiplayer should be done! Love this game and love the fact that I can now play it on the go!

I wanted to love this game, but the UI leaves a lot to be desired. Feels like a console game ported to a phone with no consideration for usability. As far as the game itself goes it’s solid but I won’t be playing it with my friends as I had hoped because the interface is terrible for fingers.

I love this as a TBS fan. I do have a big gripe over my progress being wiped when I try to export/import between my devices. Export the save file, import it on my iPad, both devices now back at zero progress… very frustrating. Edit for developer response- The issue is not that the save file disappeared, I can see and access it on all my devices, but it loads as a new game. Everything LOOKS like it’s going well, but it’s a fresh start.

Touch controls are poor for this game, and could have been much better given the gameplay.

I posted my previous complaint on the Discord. I have a new one, maybe this game needs a rating and comment section in game to vote for good or bad maps. Some maps are just dysfunctional troll maps. Also, is it possible to increase the difficulty of AI? Also, possible to had 6 players instead of 4 only?
