Waze Navigation & Live Traffic App Reviews

Latest update made audio very quite even when set to max. After I killed the app and reloaded it, volume control indicated low which enabled it to be adjusted higher. So it appears the Waze volume was stuck in a glitch.

1) Need to make re-routing opt-in. Tired of being automatically re-routed from the route we want just because another one is shorter, then having to go back into the menu and re-select the one we wanted, especially when driving solo. A new route should be offered, not imposed. 2) It’s 2024. The algorithm can/should be updated to offer minimal tolls. Tired of not being able to map N. VA to Boston because it’s binary (either all tolls (I-95 up) or none, which it can’t do at all). 3) Consider creat

Waze used to be unusable with CarPlay, glad to see they finally fixed whatever was causing the massive battery usage!

This app would be my go to 100%- if they incorporated stop signs and red lights into the maps. Those are great landmarks to know where to turn when you’re in unfamiliar places. I travel for work and use Apple Maps primarily for in town and Waze for the interstate & warnings. I thought they announced were going to add them in 2022-2023, but yet here it is 2024 and they’re still not there

I downloaded Waze a while back but didn’t use it until last week. It’s a ton better than just using google maps and works great on Apple CarPlay. I love it.

Love using Waze most of the time but getting increasingly frustrated when the route changes and the navigation system fails to announce it. A number of times while driving and having looked at a preview of the route, only to unknowingly be told to go a different way. It’s most confusing and causes the driver to look away from the road to sort what happened. This minor but critical adjustment would help so many drivers and I’m sure only requires a small programming update.

I have used GMaps since I started driving but when I was on my way to upper NY to see the eclipse, I switched over to Waze and what a difference. We could see the highway jam packed with people and Waze lead us around the traffic while reporting the cops on the route we took. Very satisfied with the switch

Waze has almost everything I need while driving. The one thing it’s missing is the orientation point where I’m heading. I feel disoriented if I don’t know if I’m heading north, south, east or west in an unknown location. Please include that feature that way I don’t have to switch applications to know my cardinals points or directions. Thank you!

Waze has always been great. We’ve noticed a couple issues as of late. The Waze voice seems to be drunk at times. Her voice pitch shifts randomly. It started the last couple of months. Also the directions aren’t announced sometimes or announced too late. And sometime it announces one set of directions but then changes course and doesn’t announce until it’s too late to make a turn to accommodate the new route.

The design looks outdated and google tracks you everywhere you go , the is amazing because every reports traffic and cops , I like how it shows the speed of the traffic

Problems. Lockups. Black screens. Doesn’t seem to remember routes. Not too happy

Speedometer, Cop alerts, Traffic alerts, voice navigation, etc are the things I liked most.

I used this app to travel Cross Country from CT to PA and then to California from there. This app gave us better information hat the traditional gps apps. I do believe there is room for improvement and they should definitely make sure to update changes of the traffic patterns and new turns in NYC. However, I choose this app every time and it does ok on the battery. I hope they listen to the people as we make the apps what they are !!

What’s with the 2 female voices giving directions? There is the usual voice that’s been on the app since I downloaded it several years ago. In the last few months a deeper pitched female voice is heard at times. The two voices switch between each other during even a short drive. Why is this happening? Anyone else getting 2 different female voices on the app?

This app has saved me so much and I highly recommend getting this if you have a heavy foot. Don’t drive recklessly but this app saves me all the top from speeding when I see a cop appear on the app. Thank you to all the people the use Waze and for making this such a useful app.

Need to bring back distances to hazards/warnings. Otherwise, not really different from the other apps.

Very happy with this app but have two suggestions. First, the app needs to advise faster when you are reaching your destination. This is particularly bad if you make a turn and the destination is close by. Currently it is too easy to drive by the destination and have to turn around to return to it. Second, make it easier to turn off the app when you arrive at the destination. A simple "Canx Trip" type icon would be great!

Definitely dislike that you now have to selected x2 you want to go xyz address. Often I forget, get on the road only for the route navigation to have never started!

It would be nice to have the ability to change your starting point. Sometimes I want to se how long it will take me to drive somewhere from a location I am not currently at. Apple Maps allows this feature but I don’t always trust Apple Maps to chose the best route. Waze is also not always cooperative with the Hyundai display system. Though I am not sure if this is a Waze issue or Hyundai.

Started using app today.I travel a lot for work this was extremely helpful! I really don’t like the appps that allow you to be social 🤣Using it for other 4 instances reasons like to connecting to strangers! I’m good!

I love Waze. But just like you say police up ahead, something in the road, let us know that there is an accident or heavy traffic 2-3 exits ahead of time!!!!! I am driving and you automatically switch my route from the normal… tell me why so I can adjust!!

A widget would be so helpful for this amazing app!!!!

I’ve had Waze for years. I really like it. However, I was really low on gas and stuck on a highway moving at a snails pace. Tried to find the nearest gas station and Waze simply can’t do it. It kept listing gas stations miles away from my location and fortunately I happened to run into one at an oasis. Wasn’t on Waze. Super frustrating

Whenever the RR alert come on, it gets stuck on the bottom of the screen. Then you can’t swipe right to access the Home Screen. Really annoying!!!

Waze is great. It could also be improved if it stopped interrupting my podcast to tell me about every car parked on the side of the road on my hour and a half commute to work.

I used to love this app. For about the last year, anytime I want to use this app, I have to restart my iPhone. And lately it’s been saying there’s no GPS for my location, or something like that so I have to restart it again. Surely there has to be a fix for this.

Need to work on the bugs app keep freezing and exiting me out

Super reliable. Has features and other great things about it that other travel apps do not have. Like Apple Maps, or google maps to name a few. I really like this app, so I gave them a 5 star rating!

I hate the ads. Wish there was a pro version you pay for that doesn’t have advertisements

I love waze normally but since the last update I cannot zoom out to see my full overview or route options. It’s zoomed in and frustrating so I have to use another app to find the entire route on the screen.

I never get lost. They are the best GPS I’ve ever used. They give me enough Time to make an oncoming turn. I can’t even imagine a more perfect GPS. ALL I NEED TO GET WHERE I’M GOING!!

I usually love this app. BUT, lately it won’t connect to GPS and/or the map won’t track with me. If it is t fixed soon, I’ll have to go with GMaps.

Ever since switching to a vehicle with CarPlay I’ve come to loathe Waze. Please, for the love of god, fix the app. When it works, it’s the best. When I have to reboot my iPhone to get it to work on CarPlay , it’s the worst.

I love WAZE I just wish it would still give directions(verbally) when you answer a phone call. Once you start talking on the phone the GPS will stop giving directions.

The parking on waze is not accurate. it would show parking about 20 minutes away from where i wanted to head to. even tho there is a parking right in front of the building.

This is a wonderful app for navigation!! Better than Google Maps & Safari!! I can’t believe this app is free. I’m willing to pay a one time premium fee to remove ads ( ads doesn’t not interfere with navigation).

Please people stop reporting a car on the side of the road as a hazard. Unless it is sticking out in the road there is no hazard. Also please stop reporting construction, it’s obvious.

Waze is straight trash now. I use to love it when it was introduced to us. I would not count on this app unless your 100% lost or would like to know where speed traps and cameras are located.

I’m only giving 2 stars bc of the street and Police notifications which really help when driving on hiway. However I’ve consistently noticed for a while that Waze waste my gas by consistently guiding me further out instead of direct and sometimes obviously more direct routes. Are you in business with oil companies or battery operated vehicles to increase their respective sales?
