I really like this app. I want to love it, but some of the quotes are confusing and don’t make sense. I paid for extra content, and so far that has been good. Thank you for this app, may the quotes keep improving 🙌
I love this app for my remainders of mortality. Definitely valued in that regard. But more attention needs to be paid to some of the quotations. Not all are reminders of death or mortality. “Hidden messages shared in symbolic language”? What does that even mean? Death is good enough. The pseudo-mysticism takes me out of the experience. (Also the Bhagavad Gita is misquoted as Oppenheimer. I know he said it, but he was reading the Gita at the time.)
I’m seeing the same quotes every time. Update with some new ones please.
Love the concept, but all the quotes I’ve gotten have used he/him pronouns or explicitly only referred to men when discussing grander truths or observations about life.
Just learned they offer “harder hitting quotes” in the paid subscription which wouldn’t be difficult considering the weak ones that come free. Some of them - often repeated - appear to be randomly selected, not really pertinent. I’d consider a subscription if the free version wasn’t underwhelming because this is an essential tool for a good life.
Widget doesn’t display the new quote. Open it and still says “Open for a quote…” after exiting. Otherwise great app all around
A good amount of the quotes really seem unrelated to the goal of the app. Until there is more granularity or customization, I think paying for this app is not at all useful.
The quote only shows up once for a little bit then it goes blank unless you delete and reinstall the widgets. Wish it consistently worked
Good at first, then some quotes were overused🙁
I get the same quotes every week.
I loved this app the first week I had it then I just got repeats. The concept is cool I wish they put some more energy into it.
It was pretty good for a while but after about a week it runs out of quotes about death, and just starts sharing general random quotes about life. I really wanted all the quotes to be about death
I don't let my phone ring or vibrate so I can focus on my life, but I do let -only this- application send a notification. It's a wonderful reminder to skip the little things that don't matter and ignore or move past the things that make me unhappy.
Would prefer to have the quotes in my notifications rather than having to open the app
Finally an app that is actually helping you contemplate impermanence, instead of just sucking you down rabbit holes of mindless entertainment. I am going to tell everyone I know about this app.
The app no longer allows longer quotes to scroll as the used to. I love the app but hate missing the last part of longer quotes
I’ve had this app (and enjoyed it) for a couple of years. Several weeks ago (~10/1/20) longer quotes are truncated and unlike in the past, I cannot move the page. So there is no way to read the second part/the ending).
What this app does for me is to remind me, several times a day, to ponder something in life more meaningful than the daily headlines. If you don’t understand a quote, all the better! You are invited to ponder.
Think it might be free now but it was well worth the $1 I paid for it. This app has notified me several times during particularly stressful situations and it always helps re-center me. I think everyone could benefit from this app
I really like the reminders but pay $2 a month. Maybe $2 a year. I will keep your app bc the message has value but a monthly fee for a message I can get elsewhere I don’t think so.
Great app but needs ability to change notification sound
Who would have thought that had app about death would be so inspirational? Thank you to the app architects and the people of Bhutan!
Can we have a filter to exclude quotes from dimwitted politicians?
I love the variety of quotes and how pertinent they are to my life! Keep up the good work!!
This is app gives you a great perspective on life and truly gives you a reason not to stress over the small stuff. Simply enjoy life and be happy.
Grounding indeed. Groundlings will like it. Perfectly simple. And not doing any “robust” sales, thank you.
Please display the quote in the Notifications so it will work on Apple Watch as well.
So insightful. Makes you think. And I believe it will make me a better person. Just awesome.
Wish you can control the times of day you can get the quotes. Wish you can also go back to other quotes from the day. Also wondering what some of these quotes have to do with death. They don’t make you question your mortality.
I see people complaining about the quotes as if the quotes were the point of the app. But that’s not the point. The point is to remember you’re going to die. In light of that, what are you complaining about?
Please, please add more quotes!
Add the ability to copy the quotes other than that great app
Wakes me up to the sacred nature of life
Unfortunately, right after the latest update purporting to help with +\- 5/day — I got 10 (so far). Two within 30 seconds of each other this morning
Much like other reviewer... like the app but definitely needs update to fix glitches
The idea is good and I like the simplicity of the App. But the quotes are, for the most part, not all that inspiring and in many cases not really even on point. This could be improved.
Love the concept of the app. Sadly it died after a week. Well, it’s stuck on one quote and no more notifications. Would be nice if the developers looked into this.
a subscription service, now? i understand the need, but no thanks.
I love the idea of this app and have had it for a few years but frankly it’s a bit silly now. The quotes that pop up are more and more completely unrelated to the subject of death and more and more celebrity oriented rather than serious Buddhist thought or philosophers in general. Sorry but Dolly Parton isn’t my go-to sage for pondering my inevitable death.
There are literally thousands of quotations about death, if not tens of thousands. Please try google, then build up your database.
There’s mindfulness, and then there’s obsessiveness. Getting a notification five times a day about death definitely toes that line.
Did not identify with quotes being relevant
I like the reminder about me dying and all but seriously come up with better quotes.
Been enjoying this app, but good grief this is so uninspiring. Please remove it.
