The only reason this isn't five stars, is because you can't edit articles on mobile devices.
I’ve been using this app for almost 10 years I believe if I dont forget. It’s very helpul and useful for everyday because I’m always curious. Answer are accurate and very organize. And adding my own language is a plus. Thank you wikipeds.
If every user of Wikipedia gave five dollars a year, they would not struggle for money.
Wikipedia is a trusted source that balances the opinions of experts and eyewitnesses—with no room for political self-interest. Just as things should be.
The reading is light, for even the complete heaviest subjects!
Wikipedia is the soul of the internet. More important than Google for myself, I feel this app is the aspiration of what the collective sum of all information should be. In a world bogged down with opinion, an open, fact-based source to begin fact checking and further study is invaluable to us all.
The app's navigation is good and simple. There is an annoying glitch that happens sometimes if I look around and click links for some time. I would enjoy the app better if it was redesigned for tablets by applying the desktop view. For phones, I would also like it better redesigned to better fit a desktop/mobile view whenever the phone is horizontal or vertical. I would also like the Visual Editor in the app if possible.
The Wikipedia iOS app is the reason I donate
For some reason when there’s pictures in a article they are inverted
Hey, I’m someone with a severe serious Traumatic Brain Injury (don’t try to disparage me and my knowledge, or what’s been taken from me on that awful awful day) So I’m just going to say that..I love this app. Heh, I always use it whenever I NEED to know the information on someone and I’m HOPING that this app has TRUE information to share, that would help in any/some way(!) ( PS - the subject of this rating isn’t about cigars haha, I just mean “perfect!” lol)
This app is really great for searching and learning things.
La App cómo tal está bien pero falta mucho contenido por añadir cómo más biografías de artistas etc
Wikipedia has so much information then you can read for hours! this app is so amazing!
One suggestion: We can swipe right to go back. Why can’t we swipe left to go forward?
This app is pretty great for readers—I do little to no editing, so I cannot speak to those aspects. I love the reading lists, and as someone who often wakes up in the middle of the night and reads a bit before heading back for zzz’s, I really enjoy the randomizer button and being able to go through the articles with the back button or the history.

It’s a much better experience than the mobile browser version. Its written in swift so the UI feels clean and natural for an iOS user. That’s something that a lot of apps haven’t figured out yet but somehow this free, open source app did. Kudos to the great dev community that built this!
Perfect for reading Wikipedia. Clean and precise. Don’t forget to donate, as there is no free lunch. You don’t want advertisements!
Wish I had five million dollars. I would donate some of it. Thanks for one of the very best apps I have on my iPhone! And thanks for all your hard work.
Apps okay for one reference to make a good all together picture.
I used to enjoy reading the "This Day in History" feed, but it seems to have become more selective in content recently. Not really impressed anymore, as I notice many historical facts are ignored. The app itself can be a little buggy at times too. Overall, it is just ok.
The Wikipedia app, iPhone version, and the web version(s) are comprehensive reliable knowledge resources, matched only to the hardcopy versions of Encyclopedia Brittanica and the like - found only in university libraries, public libraries, and collections of the wealthy. It is Reliable, Quotable, and superbly Interactive, it … “Doesn’t get much better than that…” I borrowed this quote but it fits Wiki and the staff of writers and contributors behind its value. M.S. It’s a great app & it is easy to use but I have one issue, It automatically deleted my history except for my saved articles. This is the second or third time it has done that after a person of time. I wanted to look at those articles etc. Now they got deleted. Can you fixed this problem?.
I can say that this app is so helpful in many ways, especially if you are a fanatic about knowing the facts of information.
Gots everything we need to know about everything! We are so lucky to have knowledge on the palm of our hands. Thank you!
I appreciate the reading controls to make it more comfortable for the eyes. I still have the issue with playing media files within articles but it’s not a huge issue. Usually just thing to play an audio recording since I do a lot of bird research and it would be nice to be able to hear the bird when they provide the audio sample. I don’t let it bother me since I can use other apps to do that. Overall I give a solid 4 stars for its ease of use and logical control layout and it is very stable.
Alas, no feature parity with Android; missing (super-useful) multiple article tabs. (:-( Points, OTOH, for shake to undo typing.
I love and support Wikipedia but have questions about who is allowed to edit articles. First time I’ve really questioned this but found a disparaging article that I found to be untrue due to edits by an unknown person. Who gets to edit articles about specific people? LIVE people?
Can’t save pictures and can’t collapse sections. Makes pages very difficult to navigate
with a website built for being used on the web. It’s impressive that they’ve made it such a good app. most websites can’t compare. Well Done, Wikipedia.
This is one of the very finest forms of free to people sources anywhere. Thank you
Look the ease of use and access to the website, info, etc. Like the ability to add stuff to site. A lot of info.THANKS
Wish they had tabs like they do on the Android version
(Support Wikipedia: donate. ¡Important!) I set it up so any Safari link to Wikipedia is passed to this app. Through the app I stay signed on to my Wikipedia userid. You can tune article display to font-size, font-type, and background-theme (I like “sepia”). Good search history retention for current session. Good link preview (footnote link shows preview instead of losing page view location). Good page “gallery” display for images. Good “back to…” link at page top. Very user-friendly.
Overall a great resource, but more and more politicized. Articles on political figures read more like opinion pieces than fact-based writing.
I use Wikipedia nearly everyday - it’s a wonderful website. The app itself is good, but half of my iPad’s screen goes unused when reading the pages. The default margin size is too large!
The app is great. I like the bunch of features they have developed. My mayor concern is that I am not able to read using dark mode. I usually read math articles, and most of the math expressions are not visible when dark mode is selected. I would love for this to work since I usually read at night.
I gave 5 stars, because I have found a lot of varied articles. Music, heath, biographies, climate, animals, history, it’s all here. Some are very in depth to help/learn etc. thank you
I stinkin love this app! Haha, everyday, @ aaaallll times OF those days, you can find me on here!! It’s SO helpful! Thank you “Wiki”!!
Search in page feature isn't working on my iPhone Wiki is v. 6.8.2 (1868) (latest version?) I have noticed this problem with earlier versions of Wiki. Pending response...
There is not a better way to get your information just download it you’ll be happy
There’s no way to tell how long the article is that I’m reading :(
3 Negative User Reviews for Wikipedia
I read Wikipedia articles frequently, near daily. It used to be absolutely daily, but then I switched from Android to iPhone. The iOS version of the app is just not as good. The Android app applies for tabs, so you can have multiple articles open at once. The Android app also remembers the spot that you left off at, which the iOS app does inconsistently at best. I think that I wouldn’t dislike the app as much if I didn’t know how much better the Android version is, but I wouldn’t read the arti
Not even close to its android counterpart. You can’t look at more than one article at a time. You can’t open a hyperlink in a new window. I am dumbfounded how impractical this is made. But after all, it’s apple, it’s impractical.
The app side scrolls like it’s a poorly rendered mobile site
