Fun and highly strategic, educational with a flat one-time fee, and beautiful graphics. I really love this game.
I love this app. I adore it. Play it daily. Only caveat is that it DRAINS the battery on my iPhone 15 Pro. It’s a battery killer.
This game is well worth it for the money. I have both versions of the game, and it is a very relaxing and rewarding game. I love the depth !
Lovely app, beautiful UI. It’s definitely worth taking the tutorial, even if you know how to play the game, that way you can get used to the way they implemented the interface.
I struggle with frequent PTSD episodes. I find this game a very calming activity to focus on as I wait for the worst of it to pass.
The game keeps crashing on me. Very frustrating. 10/10 game though, I’ve been waiting for a patch to fix it.
Easy to use. This is as beautiful as the board game
I have had this app for several years now. I play the game more on the app than the actual tabletop version now. The artwork and animations are beautiful and true to the original. There was a time where the game was laggy and would crash, but everything has been running seamlessly for several months now. If you enjoy the tabletop version, I recommend getting this app.
I enjoy playing this game with my wife. It provides a great mix of strategy, randomness, bundled in an interesting venue. I just got an iPad and was looking forward to playing there, only to find that it makes it so my iPhone can no longer access my online profile. I’m going to look into seeing if I can have a different online profile on each device. My wife plays on Android and can use both her phone and tablet, so this really came as a surprise.
Love Wingspan, started playing the actual board game and then found the online version which is great for on the go play and for playing with friends and family that are far away.
I love the game. I hate how unreliable it is. Since the last update, I cannot play. Just gets stuck on the loading screen. So frustrating. Plus the drop-off of support for android players means that I can no longer play with sister who lives states away. This used to be our favorite way to stay connected. Hope the tech issues get fixed soon.
My daughters and I play this game often and great that we learn so much about birds!
Simple. Beautiful. Plays just like the board game.
I love to play wingspan but I experience some glitches with this app. I seem to no longer be able to gain karma and only lose it. I complete dozens of games and no karma increase. Also the app will periodically freeze and auto shut down over and over at times preventing me from being able to play/take my turn.
Wingspan is an amazing game. The app for single player recreates the experience very well. The interface is beautiful and works great, even adds a little to the experience like sounds and soothing ambiance. Online gameplay seemed promising. I’ve tried to play two online games and got timed out because of bugs. The app and website neither seem to have a help or report issue feature, or if there is one it isn’t easy to find. I’d give it 5 stars otherwise.
I have been playing this game on my IPad and it is mostly great. I have had occasion when I was not given food I had requested and sometimes my powers have been skipped though activated. A couple of times I changed my mind about an action and used the back arrow, but was not given back the food or eggs I had paid. I love the game and would like to purchase the European Addition in future when and if these glitches are ironed out.
Faithfully recreates the experience of the board game. I do wish there was a way to organize the cards in your hand, but that hasn’t stopped me from playing this every day since I got it.
Faithful recreation of the board game that is faster to play and has good AI opponents as well. It’s a useful way to learn the game (though it may move a little fast for some people). I really enjoy it and play solo against the automa (the solo mode provided in the board game, also available in this app). The game art is reproduced (and animated) and bird sounds added as well. Really well done.
Overall, I have had a really great experience with this app, it’s beautiful and pretty easy to understand. I’ve played custom online games a few times and haven’t had any issues, but on one of my current games, it is stuck on an AI player. We have tried to restart the app from different devices/players and nothing seems to work. Any advice?
I’m sad that the European expansion pack seems loaded with bugs as it unexpectedly quits on me regularly. Yesterday, it quit mid-game and I can’t seem to enter the game again though it’s shown as an option. :(
Love the game but I can’t believe how often it crashes while playing, 😕
For the love of birds, please add a way to start a game with the same people right away or at least allow us to invite friends in a way that doesn’t involve memorizing and typing out their usernames every game. Recent players. In game friends. Phone contacts. There’s so many options and it’s a huge oversight to leave that out. Great game otherwise!
My husband and I have have enjoyed playing several online games together. On several occasions the app indicated that my husband had 46 hours left to play his turn and when he went to take his turn the game abruptly ended and said that he didn’t play his turn in time. We lost the whole game, which was almost over. A lot of time and effort wasted. Reluctant to start another round because it might just crash again before we finish it.
The app is a bit shaky. Upon launch it usually takes tapping the "online" button 20-30 times before it actually activates. This has been the case for months. There is no feedback that the button is unavailable for use yet or that it becomes available for use, which is incredibly frustrating. Replicated on Mac, iPad and iPhone so theres no escaping. Overall, its a decent implementation of the game, but definitely rough around the edges.
Bird nerds (or just stressed nature lovers looking for a pleasant game) will love this. The learning curve is steep because the game is pretty complex. But once you get it, it's super fun. Plus the bird songs and gorgeous graphics really make it an enjoyable experience. I like it more than the board game!
I LOVE playing Wingspan and I play a lot. I purchased the European edition at the same time as the base game. This game was great, for the first few weeks. Then, it began slowing down and being choppy. I noticed on a Wingspan group commentary page there was an update, so I thought yay! Well, since I downloaded the update this game crashes every few moves!!! I have reset and cleared all cache and still have over 22GB free space available on my iPad. This is frustrating me sooooo much! NOT HAPPY!
Hello, I absolutely love the game and have been happily playing. Then it started crashing at the end of the game on my iPad. This happened both before and after the update. Frustrating to get into a game and lose everything before you get your score. -Veronika
Bought the Wingspan expansion today and while playing it wasn’t recognizing any of the new “between play” powers. So I did an update and now it won’t allow me to play at all. So disappointed. This is seriously one of the best solitaire games out there or should I say…. Was. :(
Game good much birbs
If you like Wingspan you will enjoy this it does a great job & does justice representing the board game very much 🦅
This is a beautifully rendered on line version of a board game that was lovingly and thoughtfully made. On line version is easy to use and navigate through. The variability of cards keeps the game fresh and interesting each time you play!
We have this board game at home and we love it. It’s well crafted and slightly relaxing. The app version is no different. I also love that I can play my husband during the day through the app online. We really enjoy this game in all facets. Worth the money!
Frustrating playing online because very few of the cards that affect other players actually work. The bugs have seemingly gotten worse over time too. Brilliant artwork. Bad execution of game play.
This is a great game for playing around a table in person. But it adapts very well to to the iPad I’ve only played a few online games, but the AI is good enough that solo games are engaging. I have played a lot of games against the different AI levels. The highest level with multiple opponents really slows the game down, but 1 at the highest level and a couple good opponents keep things moving and makes the game moderately challenging.
A game that is fun, competitive and challenging. Teaches cooperation and now versus later cost/rewards. And burdz!!!!
Very well designed and runs very smoothly.
I highly recommend this game for serious game strategists as well as for casual occasional players. Lots of fun! I love the beautiful artwork, all the cheery bird sounds as I play, and learning about birds as I go. I have a lot of fun playing online with my friends.
I’ve lost karma just from trying to multitask 2 games and I thought the timer was counting down someone else but I ended up being the one punished. I’d have to manually exit to the main menu and go back to online page just to get the most accurate timer.
The “invite” button to play with friends doesn’t work yet. The rest of the game is fun and easy to use!
Best board game ported to the iPhone sooo Elegantly other board games please take note.
Love this game! The app is beautifully designed and the bird animations really make things more dynamic. It’s also helpful for those trying to learn the hard copy version by teaching what and what not to do using AI. My only complaint is connectivity and glitches. Often the app will quit mid game and then not reconnect, resulting in time out and loss of “karma points.” Which is insanely frustrating. Other than that, great game!
I own and love the Wingspan board game (highly recommend it!) and was quite excited to have an app version. The game play is great, it is true to the board game and works perfectly as an app. I love the animations for the birds and that you can hear their calls. I do wish for a few changes: 1. Allow badges on the app icon when it is your turn. 2. Add Replay option at the end of a custom online game. 3. Make the AI turns faster. 4. Make it possible to view the entire achievement description.
everyone in the family loves this board game so I bought the app and expansion, so much fun. I notice that the default view is not the whole board which is the view I prefer. Also you can’t see the opponents whole board which is annoying cause you can see all the boards in reg game play. had the purple Martin and barn swallow, tucked cards behind them but the tuck didn’t show or seem to count, please fix. love the app!
I own both PC and IOS versions now and love having the option to play on the go. My one tiny gripe (with both versions coincidentally) is that it’s hard to move through the cards in your hand when the hand size gets larger. I hope that’s something the devs will think about on IOS especially.
1 Negative User Reviews for Wingspan: The Board Game
Loading Time is Insane, it looks as if its locked up, at least add a progress bar like any high school programmer learns how to do. Some of the icons and fonts are way too small on iphone. For example the + or / on the cards bird food is too small to see. This applies to many other UI items. It is a beautiful love letter of a game to birding. Fix the stupid stuff and this is at least a solid 4/5. I think it could use a longer game mode, might be fun. Buying the DLC changes the main menu screen w
