Good app

I like that I can manage screen time without the need of logging in onto my account.

Good but not great

Would be five stars if there was a way to limit screen time by category. For example, I would like to be able to set different limits for movies than video games, but currently the app can’t differentiate between them.

It used to be better.

Been using this for like 2 years now but the reported times very recently(like the last month or last three weeks) it has not been accurate in the reported times and it will not allow me to add time for my siblings as it should. Like I would add an hour or two for extra screen time and it won’t allow them that extra time.

App not reporting time usage

For some reason the app has stopped reporting usage details even though it is still enabled on all of my childs devices, ive doible checked that the share functionality is enabled. Please fix!

Best parental control app of all

By far, the best parental controls app of all the major game consoles. we’ve used Nintendo and PS five as well, but they’re not nearly as convenient.

Easy to use

Does what it needs to do and easily. Way better than ps app in terms of being easy to control screen time for my children.

Stop with pop up reviews

Automatic minus 2 stars for giving me a pop up review request right as I’m trying to change child permission settings.

Adding funds

I would expect the Internet to be instant, but apparently it isn’t. Whenever I add funds to my child’s Microsoft account, it takes forever.

Revise purchase options

We should be able to authorize purchases with out adding money to the child account. The amount of the item is never one of thes money values to add ($10, $15, $25…etc)

Meh

Could be better. Makes it hard to add a specific amount of money to a child’s account. So when they only need an extra dollar, you can only add 10$ and you can’t take money back from the account.

Good app but with a glitch

So, this app is amazing but here’s the thing. when I try to add a child on my family it says that the invitation didn’t sent, which is obviously weird so that’s why I rate this app 4 stars but it’s still a good app anyway.

Needs some changes

I can’t figure out how to give my kid time on fortnight because I already set it to something. I figured out how to give my child money but I can’t take away money.

Great app

Use this for my nephews constantly, central to keeping the kids on track.

Great

I don’t have kids but I love this app it helps me manage my time and tells me how long I played last week.

Allow less money to wallets

Everything is pretty great. Except that I have to add 10 bucks at a minimum to my kids account. Ideally the minimum would be 5 bucks. Thanks.

Control

I really like being able to control the amount of time regan plays. And that he has to ask to play games oboe his age limit. Great app! Thanks XBOX.

Was great

We all know how apps work. They come out with an app with a few bugs, they’ve been fixed but than after awhile they decide to do some changes and then issues start to occur. At this point, all the settings work superb except the biggest issue is you cannot see how long your child has played for, even though you know they played for “x amount” of time. For months now, my children show 0 hours out of scheduled time. So now how are we supposed to really know the time line on how long they’ve played

I like it, but it could be better

This app is great. I can schedule a time for my kid to be on everyday and not have to worry about him being on all day. I can add time when I want, but if I accidentally give too much extra time, there is no way to adjust it. I lose the ability to pause his time or block it. If I could do that, I could give five stars.

Fine

Meh, it’s decent. Wish it had more capabilities. But it’s fine. Actually, it’s good.

Gaps in allowing time

The app has been great as far as parental controls, however there have been multiple occasions where I tried to add screen time for my child and it never updated to his account. I had to unlock more time from the Xbox itself.

Great App

It definitely helps me manage all 3 of my daughters time on the Xbox

Easy to Use

Easy to Use and very straightforward settings controls.

I wish i could create specific schedules per app per day and mre read

wish i could create specific schedules and times per app per day, also per website otherwise i will give 5 starts

Concept is great, meh on execution

Being able to monitor my kids and take and extend time from them is great but doing so does not work in real time taking sometimes hours for the app to update on time used or for my approved request from my kids to take effect. Hopfully just bugs that will be worked out over time. But overall content with the app

6 Negative User Reviews for Xbox Family Settings

User Hostile

Doesn’t allow me to change parental PIN.

Controls don’t actually work

Screen time limits work a third of the time, if that.

Guest sign in defeats point of this app

I thought this would help me limit my son’s screen time, but he can just log into the guest account (which can’t be removed) and watch Netflix whenever he wants.

Not user friendly

Come on Microsoft, this is so challenging in seemingly simple things. I want to add money to my kids account…

Still a bit janky

I find it difficult to navigate, showing contradictory data in different places, and not reliable. We don’t use it often, but its geared to keep you on, on, on- good for them, but i need a service that works for me and my family.

Stopped reporting time used

It was great until suddenly it would not update the time used, despite restarting multiple times. Time adjustments often don’t go through to consoles, requiring multiple attempts and restarts.
