13 Positive User Reviews for Xp4n
Neat
I think balanced looks the best. Definitely gives off an anamorphic feel. Definitely looks better than a standard iPhone photo. However, I’ve enabled the 48MP camera and XP4N will still only shoot in 24MP.
Initial feedback iPhone 15Pro Max
I look forward to trying this after just downloading it. I like the simplicity of it, however the most confusing thing is how to get out of the app after taking the photo?
Pano without the pivot
Owned an Hasselblad XPan back in the day and loved the aspect ratio. Great to see it emulated here.
Great first effort however if the Developer can add the following features in future releases:
- add location data
- allow various cameras to be selected (if available)
- enable volume for alternate shutter
- allow adjustable features found only in Settings to be selected within the app (wide lens preferred vs 48mp camera) to quickly toggle between features instead of leaving app.
A simply lovely camera
A simple camera without the bells and whistles in the best possible way .. lovely photos, a pleasure to use .. glad it’s here.
Meh
Simple interface makes it easy to take a “classic” style pano. However, the app only produces a 6mp jpeg on an iPhone 15 Pro which is basically useless for anything other than a lackluster social media post. I’d say the app is just about worth the current 99 cent price.
My New Favorite iPhone Camera App
I honestly didn’t think I needed another camera app. Most of the time I’m fine with the default app. Many of the camera apps I have are bloated with too many features, controls, in-app purchases, etc.
This X4PN app is different. It’s no-nonsense and gives you just enough features, with beautiful film emulations, and isn’t bloated with features and settings you’ll likely never use. X4PN makes beautiful images and puts the focus back on composition and not on tweaking app settings.
Simply put,
This App Is Fun!
Love it. Simple idea. The filter with the halation effect is sick. Thank you for not making it a subscription. 10/10
Love it
I’m using it for landscape. The film choices work well in different situations. It’s easy to choose options and to go back and forth between them, especially the lenses.
Impressive Titles From an Impressive Developer
A commitment to apps and quality should be standardized upon Bram’s creations on iOS. He has patiently demonstrated commitment to his work and products. This should be respected by all. Peace.
Exceptional!
While I’m by no means a professional photographer, I know my way around film simulations—both through post-editing and as a Fujifilm camera user, as well as an occasional 35mm/120mm shooter. This app continues to enchant with its wonderful simplicity and exceptionally well-calibrated simulations. The core function of creating an XPan aspect ratio crop is especially welcome, saving time and greatly assisting with framing.
For those how can’t afford a real XPan
Being primarily a film photographer and would love to own an XPAN but can’t afford it, this is a great simulation and substitute for the real thing. A simple point and shoot. My preferred mode is Daylight since Portra was one of my favorite film stocks. Wish there was a way to turn off the volume buttons from being the shutter button, otherwise great app.
ProRAW support needed
Addition of saved as ProRAW option will bring this app to S tier in my humble opinion!! I know ProRAW can’t be saved with crop and adjustment baked in. But that option would be really nice to have since some photos do require post editing but it would still be nice to have the app as a viewfinder to preview the shot.
Flash Option
everything is fantastic but it would also be better with flash toggle option in the future updates
