16 Positive User Reviews for Zachtronics Solitaire
Great games let down by subpar port
These are undoubtedly great solitaire games by one of my favorite game designers… but in a very barebones port that is honestly a pretty bad experience on my iPhone Mini. Pillarboxed interface, minuscule text. It feels bad to have to play a mobile solitaire game in landscape when so much horizontal screen space is wasted.
On top of that, they don’t have the best track record of app support on iOS (RIP Spacechem and TIS-100P) and the last update definitely didn’t eliminate the possibility of lo
Incredible solitaire variants
The Zachtronics team have made an incredible array of solitaire variants that I've constantly enjoyed and I'm beyond thrilled I can play it on the go now.
Outstanding solitaires, suboptimal port
Terrific set of solitaire games. The high quality games all differ, providing variety and replay value. The app is a direct port from PC with no zoom function. Fortune and cribbage are full screen on an ipad; the others are not, which can affect visuals and card handling, but they are playable.
Instabuy
I’ve always wished for Zachtronics solitaire games to be on mobile. In this collection, you’ll find some of the most clever and elegant solitaire games ever designed. The atmosphere and music is just perfect to get lost in...
Instant purchase from me, no hesitation.
Heck yeah
Love most of these solitaires. The ones I can win at. Great game to unwind with and do a little fun brainwork
Only mobile game worth buying BUT you will lose progress
Absolutely needs to have some kind of save function. If you leave your phone for 5 minutes, you’ll lose all your progress. Fortune’s Foundation especially sometimes takes a while to figure out, and if you get interrupted before you’ve solved it 100% you’ll get reset and lose a win you for sure were on your way to. If it weren’t for that I’d give it 5 stars.
playin zachies with myfriend thee pencil feels real good
fortune’s foundation changed my life
iPad scaling
On the 11” iPad Pro the scaling seems small. I wish the cards were bigger without all the wasted background space.
Great, with one annoyance
GREAT games, if you are a solitaire fan at all. To me, most of the games remind me of Freecell, with interesting twists and mechanics to make each unique.
My one gripe is that all variants lock up a lot when selecting a card (typically at least once per game). The solution is to switch away and then back to the app, but I’d rather it just didn’t lock up.
Best of the best
These are some of the best solitaire games I've ever played, each one very unique but they all require careful choices and foresight. Fortunes Foundation is hard to conquer but once you understand how to win you won't be able to stop playing.
Kabufuda Solitaire!
Eliza was phenomenal, but what made Eliza even better was Kabufuda! I’m so happy to be able to play this solitaire variant again.
Unfortunately, the app is not scaled for iPhones, which is really maddening. The size of the font is unreadable, and the lettering on some of the solitaire cards is not readable on an iPhone. 🥺
Hopefully the devs can make the adjustment.
iPad scaling
I’m interested in playing these games, but even on the 11” iPad Pro the scaling seems small. I wish the cards were bigger without all the wasted background space.
Great games—bad iPhone scaling
Bought to play Sigmar’s Garden and found that it’s a bit too small on iPhone. The text is impossible to read (luckily the game doesn’t need reading if you already know it) and tap targets are small. Kind of just feels like they took the desktop version and didn’t adapt it for mobile at all.
Truly amazing!
These are some of the most fun and creative takes on solitaire I’ve ever played. I love how challenging they all are, once I understood their strategies, I find myself daydreaming about playing more when I’m in situations where I’m unable to lol. Anyway, I’m stoked how fast Zach fixed the initial issues with music stopping or PiP videos halting and the game becoming unresponsive, because this is the perfect game to play on the bus while listening to some choice tunes. 10/10!
Fantastic
This is wonderful and unexpected. Thank you! It would be nice if I could tap to select a card then tap where to place it as opposed to having to drag.
An incredible collection
All of the Solitaire games in here are excellent, but special shoutout to Fortune’s Foundation for being so unique and fun. No other iOS Solitaire game is as polished as this one.
