★★☆☆☆Poor replacement to BBC Sounds
With BBC Sounds no longer available internationally, this is the only option to listen to the World Service and unfortunately the UX if that’s your main use case is woeful at best.

Do the BBC forced all out-of-UK users to this app from the really good BBC Sounds. And it’s too bad. I can’t fint a flow of all pods that I subscribe to, for example. Instead, I have to go into every followed pods page and check if there might be a new episode.

Whenever I click on the following article, it first opens the website page and then opens the article in the app, which is annoying

Unfortunately, the new version lacks focus and usability. Engagement factor has decreased for some reason and best way to show that is to have a look at the’BBC Sports’ app. Much better that one. There should be a cohesive appearance and UI for both the apps and using the sports app as a guideline would serve BBC well. Now catching up on news reading off another news app instead.

BBC is still a first class news organization. This app, howver, has gradually declined in usability and possibility to tailor. Some years ago, there was brilliant app which you could tailor to your interests. Then is became just a mess of random news. Now it is just a mess, where you seldom get to any news at unless you click yourself through a marathon of cookie questions and account creation pages.
