Everything about this app is just so much fun. I constantly just want to open it. I love the layout/GUI. It has such a cohesive workflow/pipeline which makes the creative pathway from start to finish very enjoyable. My only feedback at this point is if there could be a way that arming the record button just starts recording whenever you start playing and then loops upon pressing the record button again. And lastly, if in keyboard view, you could opt for the drum pads along the top instead of 2

Overall, Flip is quite a robust mobile DAW. it lends very well to my sample based music production style, and the workflow gets my ideas flowing and developed quickly. As of right now, however, there is a bug on iPhone 13 that doesn’t save each project’s BPM like before.

I love making beats on this software and messing with it on my computer, this is a seamless process of recording samples, to recording session, to saving to my iCloud, to editing software it’s amazingly simple. I would give it 5 stars but have a simple grape with the app now won’t let me upload things to it to use not sure why but gives me an error, but other then that I love this app I like restarting sample pads so it wasn’t to much of an inconvenience. I want to love this app. Typically it’s a great tool for improvising & sketching out melodies & percussion ideas. But there’s unfortunately too much inconsistency & bugs with sample recording. Half the time it works great - I hit the record button & hum a note or make some sort of drum sound with my mouth & flip automatically find the starting point. I worked Successfully with Flip after purchasing it, until upgrading iPhones from a 12 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max. Since that time, FLIP HAS NOT LAUNCHED successfully ONCE. I've had this app for years. Opened it up today and got right to playing. It's crashed 3 times in 40 minutes. Also, on my iPhone 14 I now have the "dynamic island" feature blocking 1/4 of the menu items. Can see that one can disable that iOS feature so I'm hoping the developers can figure out how to adjust the app so menus aren't blocked.

Can’t figure out how to record live sounds with my phone to then cut up and sample, that’s why I got it….

Already, something as simple as throwing a pattern in the trash bin crashes the app (consistently, too). That is such a rudimentary thing to get right, I can only imagine what awaits me. Interesting app, definitely glad it exists, but I think I will wait for it to be in the oven a bit longer.

I cannot believe how clever and wildly useful this ridiculously cheap app is. Don’t get it if you can’t afford to lose hours creating legit recordable samples and patterns. Not for people who think making music should feel like hard work, because this is pure fun.

If you’re a musician, and you don’t get this app, you’re missing out in one of the most brilliant new tools on the market. You won’t regret the money you spend. I can sit and spend hours at a time on this thing. Every time I open a new project I have a great time with it. %100 will release an album of stuff made mostly with this tool.

After playing for about an hour, the program crashed three times.Not at a specific time, but at random.

** there seems to be a bug with dragging clips to the trash icon on bottom right** This is the gateway drug for apple products. this app along made me decide to borrow a friend’s old ipad sitting in the dust and now look at me I bought myself an ipad pro. Anyway jokes aside, right now it crashes when I use magic keyboard accidentally (not supported) during renaming a project.

Whenever I press record and I immediately stop the recording without playing anything, when I try to play back the sounds previously recorded, I can’t hear it at all unless I exit the app. Also whenever I go to the song order tab and mess around on it for too long the app kicks me out. Please let me know if it’s just my phone being dumb:)

It’s a good app. Samples well but seems to sample lower volume than Koala still a good app. Please add sample looping

This is the ideal tool to keep learning and creating anywhere. Making music with whatever comes to hand is so easy with this app. It took about 3 minutes to learn the basics and I’m off! And now with MIDI functionality! Even better.

I’m missing all of the stock samples, any fix to this? Update: pressing the restore button did not solve my problem. Any help?

Got the app when it came out. I tried to push through latency issues on my iphone XR for a while.. but ended up putting it down for months. — Seems like w great app... Kinda unusable when every hit happens like .25 seconds later.

Panning in mixer doesn’t seem to do anything expect make my samples quieter.

This is an amazing mobile music making app. $10 isn’t a bad deal at all for how much it can do.

On finding the most annoying metronome sound on the face of the earth. My search is complete.

Why Is this not an inter app or audio unit, the makers of this app know the importance of these features.

Get this app. Watch a few tutorials. Learn a ton, in a short amount of time, and pretty soon you’ll be making music! Easier on tablet than phone but great on both!

Is it possible to trigger samples and loops with a controller? cant see it anywhere...

It may seem small but the Bluetooth support on this app is not that great. I like to use this app on the go. The AirPods Pro have huge latency issues. Hope there’ll be a fix soon.

this is great! It would be interesting to see an additive synth though, just because that’d be interesting.

Love the app is awesome super intuitive, I can wait for AUV3 but I think having AudioCopy audio share implementation would be awesome this app is so good already I can wait for the update and really hope in the audio copy audio share :)

This app allows me to make beats very quickly and easily. It’s a lot of fun but it crashes a lot. In the hour I was fooling around with it it crashed 3 times. Hopefully will see the devs fix this issue.

Total beast! Can’t wait for auv3 integration so I can get good samples inside of it but this thing might just become one of my few go-to apps that are standalone. Cheers to the amazing devs and to Huang for this !

I love the app but it just crashed on me when I was in the piano roll. I hope y’all will stay on top of these kinds of bugs.

Andrew’s new DAW on a phone is INCREDIBLE! And OH MY GOD!! Cuckoo, one of the BEST YT synth reviewers and tutorials makers, who I call the “Bob Ross of music”, has an IAP pack of 50 sounds! Must buy!

Ableton Link isn’t working for me either. Five stars because holy cow! Full review to follow after I dive in!

ARM is good that is all this app is great

I wasn’t expecting this to be as enjoyable to use as Ableton, but it is incredibly intuitive and powerful. And if there is anything it can’t do itself, it makes everything easily exportable.

Great sample groove box but needs more refinement. Crashes happen so frequently that they break creative flow. Several crashes have resulted in corrupted sound files as well.

I love how much this app has to offer! There’s a lot you can do on it and I myself have had a ton a fun on it already even if I’ve barely scratched the surface. I’m excited to see where this app goes in the future.
