The reviews and ratings are excellent, all my issues are with the app itself. It redirects you the article with an internal browser and doesn’t use installed apps for a news site (like NY Times, WSJ, or even apple news). The internal browser also is poor at dealing with pop ups on phones. On tablets where there is more room it’s isn’t as bad. It will also redirect you to posts behind a paywall.

I thoroughly appreciate the point of view ratings. It helps me assess the bias of the source which enables me to maintain a sense of balance.

Most of the sources are unheard of publications. And the rest are behind paywalls.

I started to use Ground News two years ago when I realized news media was giving me anxiety and depression for some more clicks. Today I only read news on Ground News, the news come a bit later but the ability to filter out the noise is priceless. Well done Ground News. Now please include Icelandic news media in your analysis, they desperately need heavy guardrails for their “unbiased” reporting.

Ground News provides balanced sources for news and highlights when one political side is under reporting. A great resource for those who want to be in informed. Also shows how biased the legacy media is in our country.

I am a bit upset that this paid subscription doesn’t really do a very good job with Iran’s news. It is probably because no one in this company reads, speaks, or knows Farsi. I know the CEO of one of the Iranian media outlets and your opinion of them is incorrect

Overall great. UI could be better.

It has access to a ton of sources and even seems to get around the pay walls of some them. I learned about it from Kurzgesagt on YouTube. I think it gives me the inside source on everything and then some. Very satisfied

I love the idea of this but it’s very confusing to use. It just feels disorganized. Another reviewer said the UI could be better so I looked up UI and thought, yes, that’s the problem.

They’ve implemented the concept of a bias-showing app in a way that’s straightforward and works. I enjoy using it.

Great app! It makes it so easy to separate the slanted far left and far right news from the balanced, non biased news reports. Love it!

I’m suspicious of the new news emails I’m getting since signing up for a premium subscription via a YouTube channel advertisement. I don’t like the amount of notifications I’m getting. I do like the service as a whole. As someone who isn’t on social media this is a nice substitute.

There’s no way to stop notifications despite toggling all of the options to ‘OFF’ without completely silencing this via iOS. Opening an article through this app permits the news site to bypass my Adblock preferences, resulting in frequent video auto-playback and popups. Big old security hole.

I like the direction of the company, and their focus on uncovering and highlighting bias; however, the app continues to have some severe bugs that makes using the service a frustrating experience. I continually have to force close the app to get full articles to pop up. I have no idea why.

Essentially all liberal news outlets are rated as “high factuality” and most if not all conservative news outlets are rated as “mixed factuality”. This type of biased ratings system has no place in a service claiming to cover all viewpoints. This aggregation service is not recommended.

The Mac app has improved slowly, but one glaring issue remains: you cannot share headline articles using built-in share sheets like you can in the iOS and iPadOS counterparts. It's the #1 reason I have to deduct my stars... this feature is an essential part of the app for getting news out and about. Thank you!
