iNavX: Marine Navigation App Reviews

I am a professional yacht captain and I use this app all of the time to plan my voyages. It is also a great backup chart plotter if you have a failure with your onboard system.

Because of a discontinued chart (531_1) in the USA West collection, you can’t do a batch downward of that collection. I haven’t tried the other collections. It makes the process painfully cumbersome and s l o w. Developers, please remove discontinued charts from the collection(s).

The waypoint and route planning could use some improvement but otherwise a pretty good software.

I was using the app with the noaa data for many years. very clunky with zoom in and out. Bought the USA maps upgrade and wow! Just got two more stars. Works like it should. App is complicated, lots of stuff, but way easier to use than handheld gps devices.

Good as it gets. Real Noaa charts. No complaints.

The Tennessee River has very little detail, namely channel markers, marinas, etc. in Kentucky Lake. For $40 I was expecting more. Looks like coastal maps are better. I’ll keep trying it out.

Very helpful to get around on the coast.

I never leave port without it. An app you won't regret purchasing.

The clicker wheels on the lat/ longs are a pain in the rear. they need to be changed to straight entry- it takes forever to enter waypointEspecially when you have a lot to enter

Wonderful backup to our Garmin chart plotter. Find iNavX is often more accurate

I used this app at work. I am an Offshore Boat Captain. This is the best app around. Also for WaveRunners and playing.

My most reliable and accurate tool for navigating with my iPad. A short learning curve and all the features I could want. There is simply no better navigation app!

Charts are the Best. Other features are very useful, especially the yellow plot line showing your future coarse.

Love the app. Can always find where we want to sail.

This app has saved me a time or two. Kinda hurts when ya pay for it but..... makes up for it when it helps u find that one spot!

Includes all features needed and well organized menus. The standard for smartphone marine navigation.

Please allow users to set waypoint names that show as something other than WP0001 and etc. I can put in a description but the waypoint names are meaningless.

Apple 9 iPhone went to dark mode

Easier drawing on charts and editing and customization. Auto change to best chart. Maybe some more detailed charts of rocky areas that I know other companies have. Easy program to auto pilot interface.

I bought this app for sailing in San Francisco Bay but 18652 can’t be downloaded. Update: thanks for Jim’s quick response during the weekend this is caused by NOAA discounting the map.

Intuitive easy to use and incredibly useful for going from boat to boat. Can’t recommend it enough.

I purchased charts for $97 for two devices and my iNavX on my iPhone requires that I repurchase the charts for its version

Detailed overview of waterways. Love this ap!!

Most expensive mobile app I ever bought and worth every penny. Why do I have to be on my boat staring at my gps while in route when I can study the chart before leaving the dock.

Great charts! Great interface with the WiFi NMEA network on my boat! Love to see AIS targets overlaid on the charts.

Great app! Does everything a small-boat owner could want.

The system of downloading and viewing charts could be much better. Seems outdated to me, aviation apps such as ForeFlight can sync multiple maps and charts on one single view.

Really just getting to know the program, but thus far it’s been amazing and his capabilities and ease-of-use.

Great program. Full functionality chart plotter in your pocket. Has tides, currents & more. You can add AIS and other features with easy downloading. Easy to set multiple way points to create a course and get Distance & ETA.

Has the familiar charts. Does what you need it to do. The chart download process is a bit awkward though.

Great app that is economical and powerful!!

My son-in-law brought his I-phone as we were headed west of Tampa Bay for a fishing trip. Your great system marched bottom formations with incredibly excellent accuracy. I became a subscriber I am really pleased with the performance. WOW !

I used this app on a journey from Hatteras to Virginia Beach inland and it worked perfectly. It worked better than my Furuno plotter! Kudos this app is great!!

First you pay for the app, then you pay for the maps, forever, and I STILL get hit with annoying popup ads.
