Really helpful for looking up words and being able to pronounce them right because you can actually listen to the words rather than struggle with the pronunciation table. A great way to learn new words because you can play a game and practice and improve your vocabulary. So overall, a great tool to increase your vocabulary.

Great resource with easy to use info and often excellent documentation on etymologies.

You can’t view a list words without looking them up first. I wish I could view words the way you could in a physical dictionary. The search function only works if you spell the word correctly so it can be hard to find a word you can’t quite spell exactly. It does have a thesaurus feature which is nice. And it has weekly word games included. Overall worth a purchase if you use a dictionary often while traveling.

I’m enjoying the premium version. I am a native English speaker, and still love to grow my vocabulary, this app helps as there are word games to make it fun.

I just don’t see the new bells and whistles. What does it do the other app can’t do? Both apps stop the Ads but what does the plus mean? Help me understand…..

Mirriam- Webster Dictionary is my go-to for all my Bible dictionary needs. It is impactful and full of incite.

I’ve been using this app for a while and it’s handy, but it is not comprehensive. It’s missing many words that are included at merriam-webster.com. Supposedly the app receives updates to the wordlist, but it’s not clear what determines which words are included or not. I get that it’s one-time fee model which means you won’t always have the latest words, but some words have been around long enough they should’ve been included from the onset.

After having the 10th edition for awhile, I've had this app for at least fourteen years. It was excellent then and even better today. I rarely use the website anymore because of the handiness of this app.

Since big bulky books are extinct, this gives you access to the most valuable information

I have been using this app for a few months and it never let me down.

Please stop moving the search bar throughout the app. It should always be at the top (or bottom for ergonomics). When I use the app (just like when I use a real dictionary) it should be perfectly predictable in its layout.

Webster’s Dictionary is the most useful tool on my phone. I use it nearly everyday for clarification as well as discovery! A must have for all ages. I am 71 yrs. old…learning never stops! I am so thankful and grateful for this valuable tool!

The dictionary would be outstanding if there was a way to put your saved words into folders AND you could make quizzes from your saved words. Otherwise, the features included are utilitarian.

This is one of the best Apps I use on a daily basis. Always fun to continue to grow my vocabulary! Word games are also great fun!

Great, wish there were more etymology

Superb free app dictionary with thesaurus and other features. I mean it’s Merriam-Webster so it’s kind of the final word in words, but the app is surprisingly well-featured. It’s great!

This app has never let me down as long as I have used it. Definitions, Latin roots, and a thesaurus are all contained therein. I’m grateful not to lug around 2 five pound books, but simply to have it at my disposal on my mobile device.

I regularly turn to this source when reading or writing. The app provides me a definition, synonyms and antonyms. And the accessibility makes for great assistance, right in my hand!

I don’t skip over words that I am not sure that I comprehend so when reading complex articles I rely on this dictionary app. I like being able to save words that have been looked up. One major flaw in the app is the inability to look up modern usage of phrases and words. There I have to return to the internet.

This would be even better if the app could be programmed to toggle easily and quickly as I that as I’m reading I can look up words without having to leave the app I’m in. Also, I’d like the ability to touch a spot on the word definition page so I can keep an ongoing list of new words and their definitions to review periodically. And I’d also like more small illustrations, if, in fact the word pertains to or is an object or an action pertaining to a noun (such ad running ortteins to people m,

The app is good if you need offline access, otherwise you’re better off just using the web version, which includes many words that are missing from the app (as I frequently discover when playing some popular word-puzzle games). Several times a week I try to look up a word in the app, and it doesn’t show it as a word, only for it to be there as a fully defined word on the web version of the same MA dictionary. Oh well!

This is the best dictionary app I have tried. It is easy to use, and it’s not cluttered with ads—unlike another dictionary app that shall remain nameless, except that I sort of just named it.

I read Word of the Day almost everyday. It uses very recent uses of the word as examples. The word origin part shows a deep knowledge and dedication of the writer. Thanks for your great work!

It’s great to correct my spelling and to enhance my understanding of words. I even look up words I know the meaning of, just to get a deeper understanding of a sentence.

I have always kept a dictionary at hand and used it often. Now I enjoy having your dictionary at my fingertips all the time! Thank you for providing an essential service. Sometimes I miss the extra detail my old “Unabridged” version included.

Love the app! I consider this my “gold standard” dictionary. Only recommendation is if there were recommendations for misspelled words.

Unable to use since I did the latest update on my phone, really frustrating. Upon opening, I was automatically logged out and prompted to sign back in. Once I did, not once have I been able to use the app. Everytime I open, the app freezes & can’t access anything or any features.

Whether you use Mac, PC, iOS, or Android (I have all in my family) the user interface yields solid results. Outstanding for breaking writer’s block when you are searching for just the right word.

An excellent experience to use the paid version. Cuts hassle and opens new vistas of learning.
