Michigan DNR Hunt Fish App Reviews

This app makes so many processes so easy. I love all of the regulations and info in an easy to access place, as well as the licenses themselves. The Certificate Help link in the app was very convenient to request help to recover all copies of certificates lost in a fire. A big thanks to the application developers and the team that tracks down old safety certificates for making the process as easy as possible.

As a hunter, there is one thing I look up every day before I go hunting and that’s the legal time to shoot. It’s a hassle to scroll through all pages to find it. Please add it to the main page. It does not match the 30min before sunrise/ after sunset rule with the time from this app.

This really needs the mi-hunt maps added so you can see where state land begins and ends

It’s a great app for everything DNR great to have a backup copy of all of my certificates and license

The app works well only if you have good internet access. Standing alongside a trout stream trying decipher the rules with no internet service is impossible. If you are in an unfamiliar area you can’t view the maps and even with internet there’s no way to view the maps and go back to the guidebook without exiting pages and reloading it. You have to remember colors and try to relocate where you were in a 73 page pdf. Don’t get me started on restricted gear and how confusing that is. Just put

Super easy to check regulations and laws on the go! Great app!

This could be 5 star but they left out a critical step. A big change is online harvest reporting but you have to jump around to find the link. There should be a link on the first page.

This app is easy to use and provides great info. All the hunting booklets are available and can be downloaded for offline use. Easy to report deer harvest, view current licenses/points, and other cool features like real time deer harvest counts Great application and look forward to additions to it in the future.

For years it was a task, trying find all the updated information. Licensing is a a button push away, the functionality is sound and there more room for improvements

I use this app in teaching Hunter Safety. Our young hunters are pretty resourceful when it comes to operating the new technology on their phones. This app gives them everything they need at their fingertips. It keeps them interested. Us "Old Guys" find it quite useful to keep up on the changes.

Overall great app, but lacks storing license information while offline and it doesn’t show all state recreation areas on the map.

Needs Face ID to log in. Typing in user name and password is a pain

Allow me to add this to my apple wallet! It’s great to be able to access my license though the app offline. But realistically, I’d like to just double tap my lock button and access them. Other than that, this is remarkably good. I wasn’t expecting it to be this snappy for being a government owned app.

Please consider adding additional layers to the map tab, particularly GEMS information. Trying to use the website in the rural areas of most UP GEMS is difficult at best. Add the GEMS to the map function in the app May allow us to cache the individual GEMS so we can find parking areas or see the trails without trying to use the website map.

App needs to update the newest digest faster. Possibly put older patches for sale also.

Useful app, but you will not be able to log in once you’ve improved your michigan.gov account to use the more secure passkey authentication method. Can you please add passkey support ASAP and Apple wallet support for storing licenses.

I love this app! It makes acquiring my fishing license so easy! Not having to try and find a store that offers a license to buy, you can just do it all yourself at your own convenience!
