MusicBox is wonderful for anyone that cares what they are listening to and doesn’t want to miss upcoming releases or forget about a recomendation.
I’ve been trying to find a way to save my Musi playlist if you know anyways I can please help
I've been looking for a good solution for album-focused listening, and after much trial and error, I'm happy to have found MusicBox. One feature I'd like to see is an option to list all artists in the sidebar, not just artists that have new music. Perhaps an option to list artists with new music first, and the rest in alphabetical below? Thanks for your careful consideration in designing this app. It shows!
This is a great concept! - Could you please add Spotify capabilities, or flip this app (launch a new one) to have Spotify as the main character? Thanks and best regards!
This is a super useful app, as it allows me to “bookmark” things I want to come back to, without cluttering up my Apple Music library. My only criticism is that I really wish there was an option to toggle/hide the 4 large default panels at the top of the Start Screen (if there’s a way to do this, it’s not obvious) - I interact with MusicBox entirely using Tags and Smart Searches, and those 4 default buttons are just useless clutter for me.
Please make the option to add a singular song or an entire discography straight from the music box search feature 🤍
The level of quality is astonishing. Such a useful and well thought out piece of software. Thank you for your devotion and continuous development!
MusicBox has earned a spot alongside Marvis Pro as an essential app to use with Apple Music. I love the new iOS 18 control center feature to play a random saved item.
Exactly what I was looking for. I would love the ability to hide the MusicBox tags (New, Played, All, No Tag). I use my own tags and the MusicBox, Pinned, Artists sections on the sidebar can get very cluttered very quickly.
This digital age is rife with information overload. While some are able to navigate the miasma of cyber clutter deftly, I am easily overwhelmed. Listening to new albums is one of my favorite pastimes; this app certainly helps.
Look, its a playlist with organization capabilities. Its simply genius
I’ve tried a few different apps for adding and organizing albums into a “todo list” but they were more broadly focused, combining TV/Game/Book/Music into one app. This as a music specific app with music focused features has been a more useful solution for me. One thing I do wish the iPhone version of the app had (that is more simple to access on the Mac app) is just a quick button on the front page to create new tags. I may be missing it but I think the only way to create tags on iPhone is by m
This is the PERFECT app for me to quickly keep track of music I need to download/listen to.
I just started diving into the app, but it seems like a great tool for those who really like to curate their library. To organize my library I have a system set up with Apple’s Smart Playlists using Groups, Ratings, and Comments in the track’s Get Info menu. Would be great if information could transfer over from Music Box to Apple Music.
App allows me to save and organize albums that I may not want to listen now but will later.
Nice that this has an Apple TV app. But what’s frustrating about this app is that if you add something from your device, you must be sure to then manually open the app for it to sync to the Apple TV app. You shouldn’t need to remember to open the app to see everything you’ve synced.
Would be happy to send a crash report if you want
If you are like me, you’ve tried a million different ways to keep track of songs to listen to. And all have failed. Except this app. It just works so perfectly…I love that it syncs to my Apple TV, so I have my list of music immediately available in my listening space.
I’m mostly a Apple Music user. When I have to stop using the paid subscription for a while. I no longer worry about losing all the music I saved. You won’t regret the choice to buy the app.
If you're the kind of person who gets a lot of music suggestions, or doesn't like cluttering their library with music that friends suggest then this app is excellent. It's a powerful app with a great user interface. The price is absolutely worth it. My only issue is that it has a bit of a learning curve. That being said the powerful features are well implemented so it is what it is - don't let that scare you away from a great app!
This app seems perfect for me but I primarily use Tidal. Hope support can be added soon
I just started diving into the app, but it immediately seems like a great tool for those who really like to curate their library. To organize things I utilize Apple Smart Playlists, as well as Groupings, Ratings, and Comments in the track’s Get Info menu, and this seems like the perfect addition to the process! Will update this review as I continue using the app. For now… 👏 👏 👏
I do have one wish though you can organize the songs you add in to the tags instead of them being in the order you have them now. Cause if you can organize them in the order you want them then it would make the app even more perfect.
Great concept and lets me listen through my music backlog without losing track of things
I love this app! I have been able to "listen later" to some of my favorite artists' new releases with more intentionality than ever. Thank you for making this app!!
I’ve always wondered why Apple Music doesn’t have a Favorites selection. Maybe this little app does this to perfection. Living it’s simple to use and works perfectly. Thanks.
Enjoying this app especially the addition of radio. Hoping to see support for more terrestrial streaming stations. Tried adding some local Los Angeles ones but just get a metadata error. Carplay support would be amazing as well!

This is perfect for saving your music library on here. I do wish for the tags we can add like descriptions in them. It’s definitely worth the price if you have a active Apple Music subscription (or not at least I don’t think you have to have one). It’s the best to save your music collection you built up & your playlist’s you made. It’s one of the best if not the best music saver app out there.
Music Box it’s the kind of app you didn’t know you needed before you tried it. It turns out to be an excellent way to you curate your listening. The developer makes other outstanding music-related apps, such as MusicHarbor, which I highly recommend, too. He frequently updates his apps and he’s very open to suggestions for refinements, as well. Very happy to support this talented independent developer.
This app is a good idea but sadly I can't add Tidal and Qobuz medias to the list.
It’s a good idea and it’s a nicely designed app, but I can only play individual items and can’t play/shuffle all saved songs? This means it can’t replace the playlist I currently use to save music for later. This makes it not useful for me & I won’t be using it.
I’ve been using one of Tanaka’s other apps, MusicHarbor, for years to keep up with new music from my favorite artists. This is another app that seems as though it was created for those who are most passionate about music. This is an absolute must have app for music lovers.
This is a great idea for an app, and the developer has been incredibly responsive to suggestions to support different peoples' workflow to get data in to the app. You should give it a try!
Very handy and user friendly! Hoping this will integrate with MusicHarbor in the near future!
