NETGEAR Nighthawk - WiFi App App Reviews

When I first got the router the app was great. But now it’s junky half the time want even connect to the router. I am thinking of getting a new router from a different company

My first purchase of a NETGEAR Nighthawk product and I was totally impressed. Setup, clear precise instructions made the installation a breeze. Highly recommend this product.

The monthly totals zero out yesterday’s metrics on a first of a new month. I would expect to see the previous days metrics for the ‘Yesterday’ column and NOT to have them start fresh.

This is definitely worth the purchase! As the saying goes you get what you pay for and I’m Not disappointed one bit!

I purchased this Nighthawk CAX80 because I have had a older model that works amazingly. That being said this app runs it very clean. The devices are easily edited to give you a really good idea of what is connected and where. Some advice for Spectrum ISP users: The app and Nighthawk did initially give me some issues with the internet connectivity. The “fix” if you can’t seem to login to the router/modem through the app is to call the ISP and have the automated call system “ping” the equipment.

Couldn’t be a happier person now with the range and great speed we are getting.

Router Works fine after 3 years of service. One thing is strange that newer versions of firmware are available but anytime I tried to upgrade it loads new version and finishes without errors but when when check what is my current version it is still same as before

Extremely difficult to setup the extension Took5 hrs. Finally successfully installed Problem mirrored walls split level house

Nighthawk, could not ask for a better routor .

Should be able to customize the router more from this app including selecting my choice of DNS

Everything is great but is lacking a feature to lock ip addresses on devices. Have to go to the online admin page for this. Otherwise great though and great routers.

The product covers my home completely and many spaces outdoors as well. It reaches the pool! However; there are several other routers on the market that don’t even charge for setting up schedules and limits (parental controls). I did set mine up with a large discount but why is there a charge at all since the service is already built in? Even a large discount is more expensive than free.

My husband always took care of security on our home network. A stroke disabled him and now it’s my responsibility. Just got this nighthawk in December of ‘23 & feel secure especially when it sends me blocked notifications of malware or phishing attempts.

Can’t add my iPhone as a trusted device - reports unknown internal error Doesn’t remember my credentials and requires login to the router and Netgear every time I try to connect to the router as administrator

Surprised that nobody mentions that you need a Netgear account to use this app. Why ? Why create a Netgear account just to manage my mesh 6 system. So can not use this app for that reason. Stupid.

This app has work well for me in the past with a fair amount of success. Recently though, it won’t accept my router login password even though I know I’m using to correct credentials. I can only successfully login once when I reboot the router. If I close the app and open again it won’t accept the password even though I just successfully logged in 30 seconds before after already rebooting the router.

Why is it that tech companies always have the worst functioning apps?

Not sure where all these five-star reviews coming from but the app is: - extremely slow; - not logically laid out; - any change requires a reboot; - no way to disable 5Ghz network; - no way to manage router and extenders together as a logical system, you have to connect into each individually; - no meaningful firewall or a way to control security settings; - 30 days of free Armor security is a joke; Coming from Amplifi this app and functionality looks like it was built by a group of toddlers.
