Notability: Notes, PDF App Reviews

The lined rule paper doesn't reach the end of the page and it used to, that update was unnecessary. As well as my selection freeform tool i can no longer use it as easily without glitches or it stopped working. I've used this app for almost 8 years now and intend to continue to use it but please put these changes back.

You MUST have ample storage on your iPad. iCloud will delete files you have on your device when your storage is running low, and it can often take forever for them to download back on your device even if it’s only <100 MB. I hate how Notability has no control of this and it’s all up to iCloud, according to Notability support. Other than that, this app is amazing and clearly well optimized for Apple devices.

I not only use it for teaching but also for YouTube videos. Awesome application.

Everything on my iPad that is going to cloud is disappearing from view. It’s heading into midterms and I paid for the highest subscription for a reason. FIX THIS.

The app itself is probably my favorite of the notes apps but every update breaks the app and they need to get a lifetime subscription like the other apps because it makes them more appealing than this one

I love this app. It would be great if you could click and hold the pen AND CIRCLE a large block of text to erase rather than needing to click the erase lasso button at the top.

They just introduced a new lock items in place feature and I’ve never been happier! So long as they don’t implement the planned “handwriting limit”, notability might be the perfect notes-taking app

Works alright on my iPad but on my phone it constantly is freezing or crashing. It’s almost unusable.

I get lots of question marks, Which is really annoying. When sending over a power point with bullets. The bullets turn into question marks. Also it would be nice to have a PC VERSION.

I usually use it to type all my notes and I love the format of it and it has been a great tool to use in college. I definitely recommend this!

wish that the "paste image" option would stop showing up when i have my pinky finger resting on the screen - otherwise i like this app a lot

please make it avaliable, I love this app but i have considered switching since i cannot type in Hebrew. please add more languages, I cannot recomend this app when no one replays and helps.

It is good but after a certain time you have to pay or wait a couple weeks for it to renew which is just so annoying

I have been using notability as my primary tool for notetaking on my iPad. I love the fluidity of the interface. They have also made great improvements to make things customizable while still simple. Whenever i am taking online class and going to some tool from the pointer laser and after sometime again coming back to the pointer laser then it doesn’t work….sometimes I have to tweak between tools to have it working…..it also happens when I switch between notes….its a pain…please fix it

DESPITE BEING MARKETED TOWARDS STUDENTS NOTABILITY IS BY FAR THE BEST NOTE TAKING APPLICATION I HAVE USED. IT IS ESPECIALLY POWERFUL WHEN COMBINED WITH THE MAC OS VERSION. I USED BOTH THE IPAD; IPHONE; AND MAC OS VERSIONS. NOTES REPLICATE BETWEEN THE TWO VERY WELL. SUBSCRIPTION OFFERING IS NEW. IF YOU CAN EASILY AFFORD IT THE SUBCRIPTION IS WORTH IT. IF ON A BUDGET PASS AND CONSIDER IF AND WHEN YOU CAN AFFORD IT. SUPPORT FROM NOTABILITY IS VERY GOOD, ONCE THEY RESPOND WHICH CAN TAKE WEEKS.

I love this app and it has benefited me all throughout my schooling. Being able to input other documents, pictures, highlighting, taking notes, drawing diagrams, etc. this app has it. My only thing that I have not been able to figure out is how to create hyperlinks in the app. If the document you insert already has them then it works just fine.

While I used this app for a whole year and loved it dearly, I have now switched to GoodNotes. This is because notability's syncing function is SO BAD. Notes constantly got deleted or wouldn't show up and I could rarely share notes. These problems JUST started about a couple weeks ago but have been persistent. Notability lost a faithful customer unfortunately (at least until the bugs are fixed)

We need more favorite text formate opions other than the 3 A B C that there. At least 5 favorite text. Also, the typing is sometimes delayed. Also, the spell checker is sometimes finicky when compared to WORD or NOTE. Also, we would like real time instant collaboration, like google docs online.

I really love this app. I keep all my notes in it. It syncs perfectly to my Mac and to my other iPad. Recent improvements, such ad a new library of templates make this a fantastic way for me to work. I can do math, geometric art, and just taking notes. I also use this through an Apple TV to project onto my whiteboard as I teach. It works much better for me than my interactive whiteboard for most of my lessons.

Really good application, used it throughout my college experience but it needs to be available for android for quick access from my phone.

This app is very helpful, but I would lilke to see a Widget ASAP

I’VE BEEN USING NOTABILITY FOR YEARS. I HAVE NOTHING BUT PRAISES FOR THE WAY IT WORKS. THEY HAVE MADE MANY IMPROVEMENTS, ALTHOUGH IN THE BEGINNING AND AS OF NOW IT WAS WONDERFUL! IF YOUR THINKING OF PURCHASING IT, DO NOT HESITATE, ITS WORTH THE BUY AT ANY PRICE….

Please make autocorrect fix your mistakes in the moment im tired of having to go back and edit all of my mistakes.

Great note app for professional and personal use. Crisp, fun, easy use! A must for professors and students!

The way files are synchronized is not explained well. I am using dropbox as backup. It's a gamble when, and even wether or not a note generated on my laptop will appear on my ipad.

The app is great for taking notes, but it would be great if I could access my notes from the website when I’m away from my devices. I really need something a bit more seamless.

I love using this app to bring in PDF files and make changes. My entire personal and business life is kept in here! Only thing to make it perfect would be a favorites menu you could slide open from the right, while you're in an open file, since your recent files menu opens on the left.

Thanks to this app, my college books were compatible with Notability. PDF's were easy to download into a designated folder. This app is really versitle with your needs, I love it!

After one year for using it for school, its very slow, lags ALOT, all of my classmates have experienced this

So friendly and high performance

I use notability to review documents and mark them up. I do find, however, some WORD files come across with corrupted paragraph numbering, and cannot get some Adobe files to work with notability.

I loveee using this app for literally everything. The templates are super fun too. But I didn't know their was a usage limit? That's so irritating because I'm in deep work mode rn. I might switch to a new app.

I would get this app again and again

It seems like all of these recent updates are making the app glitch. Please stop fixing what isn’t broken as the app is great otherwise

Hi I have problems in last one of notability, and I with the lasts exams, I not know how send massage to company of notability

There is no pressure sensing on the macos app even with a drawing tablet. Also when typing to find the school you go to or your major, it stops the typing so that you can select one of their 2 options that could not be more far off. So you resort to typing one letter at a time to search. This only happens when prompted to tell them about your school.
