Overall Pi-Hole Remote is an excellent app! I’ve been using it for years on all my devices (macOS, iOS), but with the v7 update it seems that using the quick-add feature of domains to the allowlist when viewing the “blocked” log from the main menu of the app causes the app to instantly crash on macOS. I usually work around this by going to my iPhone to add a domain from the log of blocked sites, but it would be great to see this bug fixed on macOS.
I’ve not only downloaded this excellent app for my local Pi-hole instance, but also purchased it to ensure the developer gets a change to continue to develop this app. If you have Pi-hole installed on your network, get this app as you won’t regret it.
The esteemed developer keeps this app up to date and in support of the pi-hole super-nurd community. Always taking feedback and adding new features. Always. Thank you!!
It’s always been good but now that the widgets and lock screen toggles are in and operational it’s just adds a new level of interactivity to my pihole.
Discovered this app after recently installing a Pi-Hole on my local network. Even for a novice user like me this was very easy to both use and setup. The information displayed is clearly visible, easy accessible, and well laid out. I found it very useful to use so I can monitor the activity of the pi-hole directly from my phone as well as being able to quickly disable pi-hole for any reason such as needing to temporarily allow traffic through that might be on a block list. Reasonably priced with
Needless to say, the app is very useful, the interface is easy-to-use and the app works wonderfully with VoiceOver screen reader. A huge thank you to the developer. Got the Pro version right away!
I’ve been using Pihole for years and using the web interface. This app simplifies the whole process and makes all your admin tools so much easier to use and deploy. I also love the UI of the app itself, it’s nice having my Pihole stats right there in a widget.
I don’t like leaving reviews, but this app is worth 5-stars and the money.
In my home-lab Proxmox cluster, I am running two instances, each, of Pi-Hole and AdGuard Home. I purchased this developer’s apps, for each. They work fantastically, have a nearly identical GUI. It is very intuitive, easy to navigate, and just feature rich enough to scratch the itch to “look under the hood”. Highly recommend both apps!
Highly recommend
I had downloaded this app a long time ago but haven’t really used it in a while. Today I rediscovered I still had it installed but was disappointed to see that almost all of the features I previously had were moved behind a paywall. I appreciate there is both a one-time unlock or a subscription option but didn’t like the idea of paying for something I already had. I emailed the developer and they informed me of a workaround to restore the features to people who already had the app. It worked and
I use Pi-Hole Remote on multiple platforms including iOS and macOS. It's super useful for temporarily disabling pi-hole when a website breaks It's also useful for easily whitelisting domains, such as those redirects when you click an unsubscribe link in an email I love the update for macOS 14. I have the "disable" widget on my desktop with a 5 minute and a 1 hour button for quick access I want to keep Pi-Hole Remote going, so I have a recurring reminder to periodically buy a tip in the app
I love this app. I wrote to the developer after Apple announced interactive widgets for iOS17 and begged them to implement it, which they did, but I’m sad to say that they just don’t work. The widgets still are static and just launch you into the app. Have to say I was disappointed but I am hopeful the developer will fix it.
Beautiful design. Easy to use. No brain purchase for pi-hole users.
Great app, easy to use, but interactive widgets are still buggy in v5.1 and iOS 17.0.3. Digital island status also remains constant even after the disable timeframe expires.
Pi-hole remote does all I could ask for when it comes to being able to remotely manage and troubleshoot pi-hole from my iPhone or iPad.
Great App for monitoring my Pi-Hole instances. My only issue is that I can only add 4 instances and need a couple more slots.
If you have a PiHole, get this app. It’s the simplest way to interact with your PiHole. They update it regularly and keep adding features!
Come to find its a great addition to my piehole! Worth the time and money. Added features to pihole.
I’m still wondering how’s this free
just great software
This is such a great piece of software that I’ve been using for quite awhile now. Once this app can sync local DNS records, it will be beyond perfect!
Want to block TikTok for your network? Go find the 29 domains that they use, then write Regex patterns to block those domains. Repeat for any other service you want to block. Fingers crossed that your Regex doesn’t break something. Or, buy Pi-hole Remote for a very reasonable price, and literally just flip a toggle to block any service that you want. Bonus is monitoring of your Pi-hole. This is money well spent.
This app is perfect and is a great way to manage pi-hole on your network. It uses pi-hole’s API and the UI/UX is well designed and extremely easy to use.
100% worth the $4
Well worth the money. I love it. Thank you for making this app
I love this app. Great job!
I would love to see this turn into an app for MacOS or even Windows, better yet a replacement front end for PiHole. Great work! Keep it up.
Loving the PiHole Remote for checking in on the status of my Pihole. Highly recommended.
If you have a Pi-hole this is invaluable
It’s been awesome living without ads
Very well designed app that runs on all my apple devices. Makes it a breeze to disable and enable piHole. Always worked flawlessly. No issues what so ever.
Super well done app. Block lists are also fantastic! Well worth the few dollars.
My past years has been so much more ad free with Pi-Hole. Keep up this awesome project.
When it works it works. When it doesn’t…. It really doesn’t. The release of blocked services is cool, but it has blocked things, doesn’t work, freezes. I have to manually remove blocked services. I used to open it and it was super responsive. :(
This app is great. I can do what I need to do in it I love the new services feature. It would be awesome if we could open that up and pick and choose what to block inside the services. I use iOS and android versions.
Very well built app, worth every penny. You open the app and enter the PiHole IP address and some additional information (don’t forget the API key), and you have full control of your PiHole.
This is by far the best Pi-hole utility out there. Worth every penny. Only thing I would improve: the app needs a way to manage blocklists! It’s handy to have access to the blacklist and whitelist themselves, but there isn’t an option to add blocklists from the internet. Great work!
This app is very well made and includes tons of useful information. Allows for tailing the logs and filtering to blocked only, etc. It also has attractive widgets to display your Pi-hole stats anywhere for geeks like me. Super neat and well worth it. Great work!
Was having trouble getting info from my backup Pi-hole but I scanned the API token and it worked. I guess that’s what I was missing!
I love the polish of this app. The developer provides regular updates and is engaged with the community. Keep up the great work!
This App is worth the money.
This app has been great for managing my pi-hole over mobile. The interface is clean and responsive. I like the toggle lists for blocking additional services too. The only thing I’d like to see is a chart for top blocked clients.
You are super. I was thinking of asking for disabled services to be at the top but your idea is better. I would still love if you can distinguish between YT and YTKIDS in the service blocking.
Very useful. Frequently updated by the developer. It makes usiing pi-hole easier. Highly recommended.
