14 Positive User Reviews for Pocket Casts: Podcast Player

Everything is Wonderful!

I don’t know how long I have had Pocketcast on my phone but it is GREAT!! I just joined Plus for the extra features and I waited too long. Pocketcast is worth paying for.

Good App

The app is a good pod catcher that allows for the addition of RSS feeds as well, no complaints from me

Ideal for heavy users

If you follow an embarrassingly large number of podcasts, this is the one. I moved here after Overcast’s rewrite became unusable and Apple Podcasts kept crashing. Pocket Casts is the only app I’ve found that actually handles a heavy load with zero lag. It opens instantly, the playlists and filters are powerful, and the wonderful many settings give you total customization. It took minutes to switch apps and I couldn't be happier.

So long, Spotify

I don’t usually leave app reviews but i love this too much not to review and share. So long, Spotify. I started using Spotify solely for podcast listening. When that no longer worked for me, I researched alternatives. I love the options and settings: playlists, up-next, there’s listening history. I also like that there’s no commenting, since my favorite podcast was nothing but bickering in the Spotify comments. There’s even a [podcast] version of “Spotify wrapped.” Honestly, I should have swit

Playlist artwork taking up half the screen is a major regression

Please give us the option to remove the collage of cover artwork at the top of every playlist. It is a huge annoying waste of space!

Ethical alternative to Spotify

Highly recommend

Can’t listen without it

I’ve tried about a half-dozen podcast apps for the iPhone and Pocket Casts stands above for its ease of use, organization, and interface. The developers clearly thought about how people like to listen to podcasts when they designed this app.

One of my favorite apps, but…

Something is wrong after one of the most recent updates. I can click once on me AirPod’s to pause a podcast but if I click the AirPods again to resume the episode it actually starts playing songs from Apple Music? Really strange and frustrating. Hopefully the dev look into this and get it resolved. My favorite podcast app when it’s time to get some sleep :-)

Fantastic cross platform app

The best cross platform podcast app, with a development team that keeps adding useful features while mainly focusing on core functionality

Rock Solid

Just your podcasts. It does not recommend unless you ask. My favorite app

Unreliable

I’ve used Pocketcasts for years. Lots of great features. Sadly it’s become very unreliable in one crucial way: playback. Even with intelligent playback resumption disabled resuming playback often results in as much as a 30 minute rewind. Making me completely lose my listening position.

Great App

The app is overall great. Functions properly and has rarely let me down. However I wish there was a way to make unsubscribed podcast episodes show up on my filters. Sometimes I don’t want to subscribe but listen to a specific episode….

The Best Podcast App

I’ve been using Pocket Casts for well over 5 years and it’s by far the best podcast app that I’ve used. I’ve tried some others over the years, but I always ended up coming back to Pocket Casts. The ease of use and simple design makes it easy to hop in and just listen to your podcasts without worrying about a ton of different buttons and features that I myself would never use. The only feature I want more of is additional dark mode themes, which is a minor thing overall.

The best podcast app

Thing thing I love the most is the flexibility, it allows you to make the queue in the easiest way compare to other apps. This and other great features would make you never get back to other apps.
