Taskrabbit - Handyman & more App Reviews

I’ve personally had a good experience on this app, but I think that’s mostly because I was able to pick my own person. It’s not easy finding reliable and competent people to help especially on short notice and especially in the Bay Area. Gino in Palo Alto was great every time I’ve hired him for my business, but I recently tried to book an additional person to help mount a heavy art piece and unfortunately wasn’t able to take the time to select a person, it simply auto-assigned someone. It worked

Aliya communicated the time and asked for details about the task. She arrived in a timely manner, came prepared and went right to work. Her work was accurate, efficient and perfect! I was very lucky that she was available and I would highly recommend her!

I have hired men at 2 different times to help me move. Both times have exceeded my expectations. Elijah was my most recent helper and he was outstanding. He went above and beyond my expectations. I will be hiring him again. He not only moved things but helped with minor stuff as I was using a walker due to an accident. I’m now looking for someone to help me with errands.

I was sent a verification code numerous times, but the iPhone app will not allow me to type the code. The result is that I can’t use the app. That’s why 3 stars. I’ve used Task Rabbit in the past with excellent results. This problem began with an update of the app.

Stanley was great at helping us with a few various electrical projects (replacing outlets / hanging light fixture). He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and help address unexpected “issues” (all on our end and unexpected) with patience and experience which gave us such peace of mind!

Just registered and same day found a reliable person to help with the outlets/ switches replacement. Positive 1st experience! The app is easy to use. Appreciate the transparency as it comes to pricing though the trust and support fees are a bit high.

Very helpful for every day projects. App itself is a bit buggy and freezes so you have to restart it But user friendly and taskers have been kind and helpful

Bryan was amazing! He was professional and yet personable. He communicated well and was very efficient in replacing my outlets. Bryan is quite knowledgeable!

As a mother of two young children and a hubby that works a lot, TR has been so helpful and getting those little projects across the finish line. House feels more like a home with a little help from the professionals. 😁

I think this app is amazing for hiring small locals or businesses to help with any kind of services without breaking the bank. I’m a fan!

I like the app, but I don’t like the fact that you can’t rate the people that cancel on you. It’s very frustrating and unprofessional. The person that canceled on me has a five star rating. Which aggravated me very much. I specifically chose him because he had a five star and he canceled on me the day of the service. So with that being said, he definitely doesn’t deserve a five star rating.

Had a great experience using the app to have multiple IKEA items together.

I used TASKRABBIT for an ikea assembly & was very pleased. His handle was Ryan M. I would like to request him again but the app doesn’t allow me to see multiple taskers. I want a choice like I had before.

Bradley was ultra professional and moved a large treadmill single-handed! He’ll be returning for other tasks, for sure!

Daniel did a great job installing my Hi hats. He was on time, professional and amicable. He suggested the right options for the task. I will definitely be using his services in the future and highly recommended him. By the way, I just got a text from that other “A List” app (5 days later)… Thank goodness I went with Task Rabbit! :)

Really helpful to have professional individuals that are flexible in their schedules. I haven’t had a bad experience, yet! Everyone has been friendly, skilled in what I need them to do and has been honest! I am grateful for Task Rabbit!!

Each time I need something to be done in my house I use TaskRabbit: electric problem, assembling furniture, mounting stuff on the walls… whenever I need. It’s also great to favorite the taskers you like the most. I am just wondering though: why there is no “wallpaper” category?!? It took me forever to find someone able to hang wallpaper under the “interior painting” category!

Tyler showed up on time and performed the move as requested. I enjoyed the convenience of TaskRabbit.

I really needed some moving help last minute, and was at wit’s end on what to do. A friend suggested Task Rabbit and —voila! I suddenly had moving help! The app is thoughtfully designed, and easy to use.

Useful app for finding help

I’m usually self sufficient but had a new item that required plumbing use. So the vendor was paired with the item and I reached out. This is a good app to use when you need a bit of help.

Kenny was on time. Listened to the tsk at hand and problem solved easily and readily. Polite, knowledgeable , on time and cleaned up. Would highly recommend!!

I have had task rabbit do jobs on 5 different occasions. 1 was a really bad experience. Could not reach a customer service despite calling several times. A ticket was however generated. Online chat was hard as well. Long queues!!! This experience was unpleasant…

Love the convenience and reliability of booking with so many vetted, professional taskers. I wish there was an option to tip above and beyond the limit set by the app.

The app is strange. They first charge you then connect you with the tasker. They still charge you even if the person is not suitable for the job and you canceled on him/her. Burnt my fingers once. Never using it ever

Two taskers cancelled 6 minutes before a big apartment move on a Sunday afternoon. Said they were coming even upto 45 minutes before the start time. Stranded. The bigger issue is that TaskRabbit doesn’t let you leave a public rating/review for these taskers. No surprise everyone has 4.9 or 5 stars. Very deceptive design. I’m sure they are many prompt, punctual taskers, but I don’t know how to separate them from the people who’ll leave you stranded.

The app is great but they don’t communicate that they are adding ~$15 PER HOUR fee (in addition to the Tasker’s hourly pay). I spent a full hour to do my research and pick someone at the right price range and BAM, they surprise you with the fee in checkout. Now I think I am just going to ask for a recommendation on Nextdoor.

It happened twice already. I waited and nobody came, and only when I open the app I saw the tasker rejected my job. I checked email, SMS and phone notification, there is nothing.
