Warlords Classic Strategy App Reviews

Faithful to the original game. Game play is intuitive and easy. I cannot stop playing–serious nostalgia trip! Update, 11/11/2016: I now have a iPhone 6S and the game sizing is perfect for 6/7 and 6/7S. Still my best iPhone game purchase to date! Update, 4/13/2020: A great game. The devs keep adding good content without messing with the game play. Even if you never played the original, this is a fun game in general. If you played Warlords back in the 90s, this is a must-buy game. Still my best iP

Not as good as the cpu version, but darn near!

This was one of the first graphical computer war games I ever played! Amiga was the computer. One of the best classic games available. The other maps should be included.

It was close but a slight miss, how come there are no quest or as many allies.

risk,archon,heroes of might and magic all combined in one game. it takes a little time to play, which doesnt bother me. If you’re looking for a 10 min timewaster this ain’t it. for me replay value was pretty good. ive played it on and off for many years on non ios platforms. it has some 16 bit charm to it, so ifyou like a vintage/retro fantasy wargame, this may be a good choice for you.

I loved the Warlords Series when I was a kid, this game is the perfect simplicity that it offered, imagining the massive battles of knights on pegasi against the goblin hordes is amazing to experience again. Would you be able to port Warlords 3: Reign of Heroes or Darklords Rising? I would gladly pay for those! I miss such amazing games

This is a classic! I remember as a child playing this with friends or alone against the computer, either way it was a lot of fun. There is an option in game to switch between warlords I, II, and III graphic styles which is absolutely awesome. What a great TB strategy gem, there will definitely be more hours sunk into this one. Thank you for the port to iOS!

You can’t purchase the newest map.

Would like to see more implementation of Warlords II features (stack vectoring, better unit and hero inspection, real army lists, and ability to purchase different production) but beggars can’t be choosers, I suppose. Overall, loads of fun.

Your new maps have weakened monsters (Griffons, Archons, etc). If you make all the monsters weak, might as well just make a map with just foot soldiers, if parity is your goal. The old maps have stronger monsters, I’ll stay there, thanks.

One of my absolute favorite games growing up and this app holds true to the original. The problem is that there's no option for me to see the battles and the big issue is that when I'm attacked, the battle screen doesn't launch, so I don't get to watch my defenses. With how fast it goes, there are times I don't even realize I was attacked. If that could be "fixed" it would make this game 5 stars. It would also be cool to be able to buy production. Other than that, this game is great and nostalgi

This game is almost 30 years old, but it remains great fun. I first played it in 1993. I enjoyed it then, and I still do.

AI needs to be able to use ships, as well as use more heavy units. Most games against the ai can be cheesed pretty easily.

But if you played this as a kid it’s a lot of fun. Especially with multiplayer.

Great to see a casual and engaging game on the iPad. True to the desktop version. Easy to learn and a great way to keep the unruly horde at bay!

Great game. If you have ever played, this is better than before. If you are looking for fun, strategic game, this will not disappoint!

Simple enough to understand, but complex enough to he interesting. My only wish is that there was a map building feature.

A level editor or builder would make this game perfect. Idk how difficult this would be to implement but man it would be awesome. I would love to create my own maps and then play them. Even creating custom factions would be awesome as well!

After buying a really old game out of nostalgia for $5, they are now selling individual maps for $2 each...? Getting kind of greedy there devs...

Can we get a portrait mode? One-handed gameplay would be nice. Also, if I raze a bunch of cities, the computer will just freeze a lot of its armies. Love the game. Been playing since I was young, but a couple changes could help.

All starting positions feel fairly balanced, it’s a great game that you can either pick up whenever, or drop hours on a huge campaign. Only issue is the user manual is pretty dense, and it feels like it drops you in without much of a tutorial

I love how faithful it is to W1 and the newer maps like W2.

This game is a major throwback to my youth. It’s a great remaster and definitely holds true to the original. Can’t recommend it enough for those looking for a basic turn-based strategy game that is excellent on the go!

Great fun, just as I remember. I only wish I could zoom in, it’s hard to read on an iPhone.

For anyone born in the 80s this game is a classic worth paying the $5 tag. Hours of fun.

This game went through several iterations. Warlords IV was by far the best. Are there plans to make it? Otherwise this game is just like the original.

Good game AI could be better but overall I would of given it 8.5/10 but I had bought the full game that came with 9 maps which was included in the deal but now they took the maps and left me and other original customers 3. This has to be borderline illegal and basically theft. I would change my review if the maps were given back to the original customers who bought it before that scam update!!
