Windy is great and it’s my favorite weather app, but it doesn’t save start-up location under settings.

This has become a go to app before flying. I still use my Aviation apps like ForeFlight and Garmin pilot for weather conditions but, this app gives me instant knowledge of wind speed and direction.

The restrictions of not having premium, which is quite expensive for a weather app, are very annoying but otherwise it is a good reliable app.

I like the website and find it valuable on my iPad, so downloaded the app on my phone. But much of the text is so faint and / or small that I can't see it even with my readers on. Bummer :/ If you have excellent eagle-eyes it's probably worth getting the app. For me though I'll have to skip this for my phone and just continue using the website on my iPad.

Feature Request: Mountain Wave, Ridge, and Convergence lift for air sports. Or even simple vertical velocity forecast chart for 850mb which is available with free NOAA data. Possibly thermal strength. The day this app is paywalled I will cry. Would pay small fee for advanced features though.

I don’t often write reviews for apps, but after years of using this one, it was time to show some love. I was introduced to Windy by my college calculus professor in 2018 and I’ve been obsessed ever since. The visuals are absolutely stunning and are incredibly helpful for planning adventures. MANY times I’ve decided what part of a state/region to go hiking in using the rain/thunder or cloud map layer. The ability to compare various forecast models is super helpful too for helping keep informatio

Precipitation type colors are not conventional. Rain is blue, snow is white, clouds aren’t even available on that filter. Jacked up. Fix it.

This app is the most useful and thorough weather app available. I love it.

The app used to be better for several reasons 1. They added a premium plan which took away some features to the user who does not pay. For example you can only now play back radar for up to 1 hour for non premium users. 2. They changed the inspector(for getting the exact temperature value… for given location) and it is worse in my opinion. Overall still a great app but it might be heading in the wrong direction. I still recommend it.

This is a must have for pilots! All folks that watch and keep current weather will enjoy all this app offers.

The paid version is worth it and hopefully it stays on a yearly basis at the same price because the value for the money is good.

I haven’t had the weather radar in two weeks and I’m a premium user. I’m a pilot and rely on all of the Windy functions. Make it right please.

Helps me keep track hurricanes since I live in the coast. Very informative.

It used to be a useful app now that they’ve taken away most of the utilit, I’m out of this one.

As I’ve had used it in Hawaii & abroad while surfing & paragliding is the best informative weather app with plenty of option to choose from according to your personal interest…

This is a data heavy app, but once one learns to use it, it is also very accurate. The plug-ins on the desktop side are very useful really hoping at some point to get those to work on a mobile platform.

Vary nice LOVE the WINDY app!!!

A must have for any pilot that likes to pay attention to wind and weather forecasts. I like the ability to switch between forecast models, I’ve been able to narrow the gap in my local forecast with this product. Mid and upper level winds are easy to switch between as well for cross mountain / country travel.

I love this app. It is the ONLY weather app I have paid for. But I bought it on my windows laptop, and my iphone is not recognised because I bought it via the Playstore, and Apples App Store won’t recognise me when I try to sign in. Such a pity. Sent a message but so far no response. I’d give it 6 stars if it worked on my phone…

It’s a great app but I am not happy that it does not have a past and future radar so please add that thank you

Decent app with different model types and features!

I manage an oyster farm. I use Windy daily. I am going to upgrade eventually. But even the free version works great. Very accurate. Area specific. The crab fisherman I know also use Windy! Great app! SK Safe Coast Shellfish

I have been paying for the premium version of this app for several years now, the problem is that even though I am logged in, I don’t get the premium functionality like being able to specify the settings at so start up and hourly forecasts. The support has been black box: it gets fixed but no explanation of why or how things have run amuck. Would love to be able to zoom out to a global view like some other apps. Update: still love the app but the new update makes zooming in and out of the maps bad. It stutters and freezes Thank you for this app. One of the best apps I’ve seen. I will continue to support it and fund it. This is what an app should be. Thank you ! Can you contact me for the different 18.99 vs 29.99 ? without a doubt Windy is the most useful and informative weather band news channel ike the google of weather it’s many steps ahead of all the others we do many outdoor events and need accurate focused weather info to confirm we can plan and implement activity Windy is accurate every time

Pretty good. I have the premium. My only real issue is as follows. It would be nice to have drop points. When I search one area and try to follow a path I lose my start point on the map. So being able to drop pins would be great. Also having a start and end point would be awesome so I know exactly what’s ahead on my route. Instead of having to search by scrolling along the map the route I think I’ll be taking. I’m a truck driver so that would be immensely helpful

It’s been mostly accurate and my go-to app to see radar movements. Good App.

Can’t say enough good stuff about Windy. I rely on it for wind, wave, storm, tide and temperature forecasts and up-to-date radar and satellite info that “just works” without annoying loading issues that some other apps have. Access to ECMWF model forecasts has been invaluable. The way the data is visualized is extremely helpful too. Great job Windy team.

Ask someone about weather, he will tell me the weather. Ask him “why”, he will tell me “because the weather report says so". LOL. With Windy I not only get the weather report - I “understand” the weather. This is fabulous!

I’ve been using windy for a few years now. It is a very good weather app. I’d recommend it to anyone, from beginners to advice weatherman.

My go to app More detail than my first go to link to trick out my own predictions. Screenshot photos as a teaching tool when explaining weather 101 to my elderly residents.

We pull a 35 foot trailer and the Windy app is one thing we rely on for safety. When at home, we use the Windy App to plan activities and construction, painting and gardening. Thanks for a great aide.

Recent (Dec 25) update changed the radar read so that it is inaccurate for my geography. It shows clear skies when it's completely cloudy and cloud cover when there's none. There was an in-app notification that new radar was being tested. I've tried to leave in-app feedback but the feedback feature is very glitchy and my review won't submit. Please go back to the previous accurate radar.
