I played this and all the other lifeline games back in the day, and loved how immersive they are. How they really make you care about the person on the other end. Now I'm using it to practice my Chinese reading skills and It. Is. Fantastic! Colloquial, engaging, friendly language with an empathic connection. Super helpful. Can't recommend it enough.

Chat simulator in the 80's
Nah...downloaded the game before an eleven hour flight. Not a good idea - it takes several days to complete because the character needs to sleep 6 real (!) hours.
Sometimes it was exciting, when you were chating in real-time, but most time you log in to the game and the character have been chating for a while, giving it an unrealistic "experience" - more of a reading simulator.
Dissappointed
I wanted to like this game, I thought the idea was great and the character endearing. The first day or so was exciting, but then it fell flat. The choices are without consequence (I went back >10 options, but couldn't make the story any different apart from small dialogue variations). Most choices were just variations of "what's happening?" to make him keep talking.
The writing is pretty poor at times. In the middle of tense action the character keeps babbling in a way that feels very fake.
